An idyllic view above "Baia dos Pescadores" (Fisherman's Bay). From its perch, 100 meters to the beach, above the Indian ocean you can take in the whole bay as your eye is drawn to Bazaruto's trio of islands in the distance – the best view in Vilanculos.

The 5 bedroom house benefits from the sea breeze that channels its way through the bay ensuring you stay cool even through the hottest of Mozambican summers.

The space
Casa Pequeña is a rustic holiday villa made up of the main house and two separate en-suite units. The main house consists of a master bedroom and two separate rooms upstairs. In total, the 5 bedrooms can accommodate up to 10 people comfortably. The living room and kitchen are open plan with patio doors leading out onto the wrap-around deck. There is no aircon in the main house as the sea breeze keeps it cool throughout the year!

The two separate double units each have their own bathrooms and individual air-con units.

Mosquito nets throughout and slatted windows allow the breeze to circulate through the house keeping it cool all way through the summer.

Master Bedroom

180 degree views of the Indian Ocean

The master bedroom has a double bed and en-suite bathroom. Sliding doors open on to the wrap-around deck that offers panoramic views of the bay and the islands of Magaruque, Benguela and Bazaruto.

The open-plan living space is designed for entertaining and making the most of the views. Sliding patio doors open onto the wooden deck and the windows have louvres to let in the breeze. The kitchen is fully equipped and a central focus for eating and relaxing.

Upstairs Bedrooms

Perfect for the kids

The upstairs bedrooms have two single beds each and are also covered with nets.

En-suite Units

Where you’ll be

Vilanculos, Inhambane Province, Mozambique

There's something for everyone from adrenaline rush kite-boarding to simply sunning yourself by the plunge pool with a good book. We can arrange for dhow trips to picnic on the islands, game fishing or scuba diving in some of the most beautiful waters in the Indian Ocean.

Just off the coast of Vilanculos lie some of the most pristine waters of the Indian Ocean. Visibility can be as far as 30 metres (98 feet) especially in the winter months and be prepared to have many encounters with the friendly Marine life!

For those looking for a more adventurous escape, take advantage of the winds surrounding the archipelago and immerse yourself in a full day of Kiting. After, grab yourself a cold one and mingle with the friendly locals at the best bar in town, Casbah, right next to the Kite Club.

From the living room, watch the dhows skim across the Indian Ocean, sourcing the freshest seafood. As the day unwinds, head down to the local beach, just as the fisherman come in, to grab yourself something for the braai/BBQ!

A number of operators offer day trips to the islands by motorised dhow, including snorkelling and seafood lunches.

Hire a boat and go searching for the elusive Dugong in the Bazaruto Marine National Park – one of the animal’s last refuges. Or head out to watch Dolphins or Whales in season (September/October) as they head North along the coast.

Paddle along the Guvuro river and its inland delta on an Eco-canoeing safari with its magnificent birdlife. Or take a boat to San Sebastian peninsular for a game viewing experience.

Take a horse safari along the beach at low tide with the herd rescued from Zimbabwe farms.

There are several restaurants on the way to town, it will take you 10-15 minutes by car. You can find a typical Mozambican fare, camarao (prawns) and frango (chicken) or venture off to restaurants with a fusion twist.
