This is a secluded spot for someone looking to get away from the hustle and bustle of Geneva. #Kitchen: The Kitchen has all of the amenities that you are looking, Oven, toaster, coffee maker, washing machine. Florence provides kitchen utensils and also provided me with washing up and laundry detergent for me to do dishes and wash clothes, as well as bin bags for the bin. The bin is outside under the tree and garbage pickup is on a Monday. #Storage: Florence provides a huge chest of draws and a wardrobe (with hangers) to store your clothing and personals. #Utility: The studio has a utility room to store bags etc whilst you stay, and it also has a large ironing board and iron, as well as a clothes horse to dry your cloths. Florence has no issues with you taking your clothes horse upstairs to the garden and letting you dry your clothes in the afternoon sun. #Size and Location: The apartment is much larger than the pictures than Florence has posted let on, the apartment is below ground as well, so it remains quite cool during the summer months. Despite the apartment being under ground, there are 2 french doors that let in a lot of light. The apartment is about 30min by train (5,25) from the local train station (Gare Cornavin) and about 45 minutes from the Airport. There is nothing close by way of shops, so if you are going to look to buy groceries, you shall need to take a bus. Most shops close at 7pm in Geneva, so planning is a must when dealing with pubic transport and the location. #Bed: The bed is pretty soft and might not be to everyone's tastes. #Business: I had no issues with mobile phone reception in the apartment (Salt, Swisscom, my phone liked to switch between the two of them). Florence provides internet access and I found the speeds to be far better than what you might get if you stayed at a hotel. There is no desk, but there is a high kitchen table and chairs. If you like to stand and work, like I do, then the kitchen table works excellently, if you prefer the conveniences of a regular desk, then this AirBNB might not be the best option for you. The apartment has a combination of the old (none hexagonal) and new (hexagonal) Swiss power sockets, which is a win for those of us who travel and have the older universal power adapters. #Over All: I spent over 2 months staying at the apartment and I found the hosts to be charming and friendly, I would definitely recommend this to anyone travelling in the Geneva area. I think the studio could definitely benefit with the addition of a couch and a desk, the desk to make it more friendly for more business users and a couch to give you someone where else to sit and stretch your legs out. The studio apartment is quite big,...
Just came back to Florence studio. As I said in my last review the neighborhood is quite and nice , residential and green with excellent connections to the city centre through 5 and 25 buses (10 mins to the center). Parking is free but it's better if you mention you are arriving by car. The studio is ideal for a single staying for short term like stages or courses in the City.
Nice studio in a private house in a residential neighborhood. The room is spacious with the kitchen and the washing machine as in the pictures. It is very quiet and really close to pubblic transportation with bus stop of 5 and 25 ( both going to the center and 5 going also to the airport) at two mins walk.
The area is quiet and upmarket but for future guests - you are far from amenities - it is always a bus ride or a car to get even some milk. And this is important as the studio has nothing to help you on your way - most airbnbs come with some general things - either provided by the host or left by other guests - there was toilet paper but nothing else - no coffee, sugar, tea, washing up liquid - this of course isn't essential and as a guest you expect to buy it and I always replace but it just makes the guest feel at home - also as I arrived on a sunday nothing is open, and I feel this could be mentioned to help the guest. Also bear in mind that the kitchen has few items as well - I did mention to Florence that unlike other Airbnbs I had rented it didn't have the basics - from there she offered me a couple of sharp knives and a wooden spoon but she perhaps should visit other airbnbs and see what others provide from saucepans to kettles, graters, wine glasses and kitchen utensils. The bus route the no 25 is great though - perfect to get into town the ticket system is easy to use but you need change (Geneva is severely lacking in ATMs so be prepared) The contained studio itself is a nice size - for future guests it is below the host's house which isn't mentioned in the details which as one past reviewer mentions makes it a little dark and colder - but I went in summer so it was fine. Florence is doing the rest of the house up so perhaps she will kit out the studio more in future but the only soft seating was the bed - even though there is plenty of space for a sofa and the bed and the linen is quite old and soft and could do with an upgrade for the price of the studio. The bed currently is a large single I wouldn't say it was big enough for two guests comfortably, even though I believe there have been couples. Florence is a very sweet lady but the studio wasn't for me, I am a business traveller and need a home to call my own in the evenings where I can cook, catch up on emails and relax and I just wasn't too comfortable here but for tourists it may be the perfect bolthole as its clean, neat and safe.
