Made of renewable tropical timber harvested from our own land this rustic cottage in our Paradise Garden is an ideal retreat for artists or writers. If you enjoy cooking the kitchen opens out to a magnificent stand of yellow bamboo.
The outdoor balcony in the front overlooks Paradise Garden with its beautiful trees said to be from the different realms of the Buddhist heavens and a pond with a waterfall and fountain. There is also an outdoor "sala" or pavilion which catches a nice breeze.

The space
Made of renewable tropical timber harvested from our own land this rustic cottage in our Paradise Garden is an ideal retreat for artists or writers. The room is in our small family resort Faasai Resort and Spa. We are around the corner from Kung Wiman Beach on state highway 3399. The house has one large bedroom with a comfortable king-sized bed and a smaller bedroom with a queen sized bed and bunk bed which is perfect for children (and those who are young at heart!) as well as a living room and fully equipped kitchen. There is one bathroom with a shower plus two separate toilets. If you enjoy cooking with a view, the kitchen opens out to a magnificent stand of yellow bamboo.
The outdoor balcony in the front overlooks Paradise Garden with its beautiful trees said to be from the different realms of the Buddhist heavens and a pond with a waterfall and fountain. There is also an outdoor "sala" or pavilion which catches a nice breeze. Apart from being a wonderful place to relax and enjoy the sights and sounds of nature, the sala is large enough for a family or group meal. The bedrooms include a television and cooling air-conditioning. The pool is only about 20 meters away from your house and next to the spa where you can get Thai and oil massages. The resort offers friendly service from our Thai staff who are here to make your stay as happy as possible.
While Paradise House is big enough for families or groups it is also suitable for couples wanting long stay accommodation.

Other things to note
It is not very touristy but a great place to get off the beaten track and experience authentic Thailand.

Neighbourhood highlights

Our resort is a nature paradise with about four acres of gardens full of birdsong, lizards darting about and squirrels leaping around the trees. It is nestled into a forest covered hill that descends down to Kung Wiman Beach and on the top of the hill is a shrine dedicated to the Mother of the Sea. Picturesque Kung Wiman bay is great for watching the sunset from the local eateries scattered along the shoreline and lovely for swimming apart from in the monsoon season from May to October. Most of our neighbours are local orchardists, growing tropical fruit such as mangosteen, rambutan, longkong and durian. We have an organic farm nearby with these fruits with a small lake and wetlands and pockets of indigenous trees,

Lives in Bangkok, Thailand
I am a Thai-New Zealand citizen and my husband Surin is Thai. I used to be an economics correspondent for Radio New Zealand and I came to Thailand in 1999. Since Surin and I are nature lovers we decided to buy some land by the sea where we could get away in the weekends and we found the perfect spot at Kung Wiman (literally paradise on earth) on the southeast coast of the Gulf of Thailand. It reminds us both of our childhood homes --- it is near the sea, with forests, mountains and hills so I say it is a little bit of New Zealand in Thailand. We built Faasai Resort and Spa here and Surin's brother Sittichok and his wife Sura are our house managers and take great care of our guests. All of our other staff have been with us for a long time so it is very much a family affair. Our philosophy is grace, harmony and natural beauty and so it is the everyday things that are important to us – cheerful staff, happy and relaxed guests, new friendships, the unfolding beauty of nature and providing a safe home to animals and wildlife.
