A fantastic place to enjoy Jotunheimen in all seasons. Newly built lodge with panorama views to the spectacular Bitihorn and Mugnetind mountains. Norway’s best cross-country tracks right outside and hiking trails nearby. Spacious with 4 bedrooms and 200 square meters over two floors. Exclusive materials in wood and natural stone used throughout. Enjoy the huge windows, designer fireplace, heated floors, relaxing sauna, premium mattresses, garage and large terrace with views and sun all day.

The space
We fell in love with Beitostølen’s year-round opportunities, with skiing in the winter and hiking in the summer, combined with nice mountain village with well-equipped stores and events almost every weekend. The lodge was built in 2017 for use in weekends and vacations. We wanted to combine the traditional with the modern and have used materials with very high quality throughout.

The living room is the central meeting place in the cabin with its high ceiling, characteristic wooden logs, and huge, panoramic windows. Her you can sit in the large sofa and look at the mountains with both Bitihorn and Mugnetind as clearly visible landmarks. The designer fireplace in stone has large glass surfaces and heats comfortably on cold evenings. There is also a Sonos music system.

A couple of steps up, and open towards the living room, is the kitchen. Here are all facilities - inductive cooking top, oven, microwave, dishwasher, refrigerator, freezer and coffeemaker. Yes, you will even find a waffle iron and raclette. The solid, oak dining table has room for 12 people and the same amazing mountain views as in the living room.

From the kitchen is the door to a large terrace (>100 square meters) with views and sun throughout the day. The perfect place to enjoy the afternoon after a day in the mountains.

On the main floor are two bedrooms. The master bedroom has a double bed and a door to the terrace. The other bedroom has two single beds which can easily be put together to a double bed. All beds, including the bunk beds on the second floor, have premium mattresses from Jensen and thick down duvets of the best quality. We guarantee you will sleep well.

Right outside the bedrooms is a large bathroom with toilet, double sinks, shower and sauna. The main floor also has an extra, separate, small bathroom with a toilet.

The remaining part of the main floor is a spacious entrance and a wash room with washing machine, rack for drying clothes and shoe driers.

The cozy «oppstua» (upstairs living room) is used for watching TV. Here is a comfortable sofa and a large flatscreen TV connected to an AppleTV with various streaming services such as Netflix. The whole cabin has wifi and high speed, fiberoptic internet. From the TV-room is an exit to a small terrace with an infrared headlamp and windscreen in glass.

The second floor also has two bedrooms with bunk beds. These have queen size width (160 cm) on the bottom and single width on the top. The mattresses are the same high quality as downstairs. Outside the bedrooms is a cozy bathroom with toilet, sink and shower.

In front of the cabin is a garage with room for one car. There is also a storage room for skis.

Where you’ll be

Beitostølen , Norway

Beitostølen is a small mountain village located just by the Jotunheimen national park, one of Norway's most beautiful and wild mountain areas with many peaks above 2000 meters. The lodge itself is located at around 1000 meters above sea level. The Beitostølen village is know for "4 beautiful seasons" and is a great destination year round.

During winter it's a skiing paradise, particularly if you like cross-country skiing with more than 320km of tracks. The cross-country ski tracks starts directly outside of the cabin. There are also two alpine areas with lifts, Beitostølen and Raudalen. The latter has red and black slopes while the former has easier slopes for beginners. Finally, you can choose to explore one of the surrounding mountains on randonée skis with or without guide.

During summer and autumn, Jotunheimen is one of the best areas in the country to hike in with numerous well marked trails in the surrounding area.

The village itself has several shops, well equipped sports shops (and rentals) and restaurants.

Some recommended things to do:
- Hike to the top of Bitihorn, Mugnetind and Synshorn (or do the same with randonée skis in the winter)
- Hike the famous Besseggen ridge
- Drive to the spectacular Valdresflya plateau
- Go cross-country skiing in the high mountains
- Rent a bike and go cycling on one of the trails or on Jotunheimvegen to Haugseter fjellstue
- Go trout fishin in Øyangen or one of the mountain lakes
- Take the old boat on Bygdin and hike back

We enjoy travelling and travelled extensively all over the world before our children were born. As a family we have lived 2.5 years in lovely Barcelona, Spain. When we travel we like to feel the "spirit" of a place and we do not have to see all the tourist spots. We like to see the nature and enjoy hiking in the mountains.
