Nestled amidst the quaint little village of Hamta, is our 50-year-old traditional Himachali mud house. We refurbished this old house to classic interiors while keeping the old world charm alive. While here, you can choose to go for any of the numerous day hikes, walk alongside the river bed or find your spot by a waterfall.
Come back home to sumptuous Himachal meals prepared by our in-house chef, while you enjoy the most epic views overlooking the Manali Valley at a height of 2650 meters.

The space
Our mud house is located within an apple orchard and offers dramatic views of the valley, snow-capped mountains, and the ever drifting clouds. You can experience magical sunrise, sunsets, and starry nights from the comfort of the porch just outside your room or from the cozy common living area.

Your private room has 2 feet thick mud walls, a way of experiencing life in Himachal in the old days. Since we have kept the old world charm intact for an authentic stay, the only window for natural light is on the entrance door while the rest of the room remains insulated within the mud walls. The large wooden deck right outside your room and the adjoining common area is a space to enjoy your books, meals, music or just to be yourself. There is a traditional wooden staircase that connects the rooms to the washrooms on the ground floor.
In case you are a group of three or more we can arrange for an extra bed with-in your room or beds in our dorm room at an additional cost of Rs 500 per bed.

HOW YOU CAN MAKE MOST OF YOUR TIME HERE:

1. Take the simple hike from our house to India’s first Igloo Village - Sethan while picking up wild strawberries on the way. The short hike is a perfect way to soak in the mountain goodness while not exerting yourself much.
2. For the more adventurous souls, we can arrange for specially curated day hikes to viewpoints like Prini peak, Sethan dome, Jobri Waterfall or the famous Hampta Pass trek.
3. Zipline across the Hampta Valley and get a taste of adrenaline ( Seasonal )
4. Sethan is also home to boulderers and rock climbers from around the world.
5. During winters come over for some backcountry skiing and snowboarding.

Beyond these you can always escape into the lush forests, walk by the riverside and watch various species of birds, flora, and fauna at your own pace. We can also arrange for more activities like paragliding, mountains biking, trekking expeditions etc on requests.

FOOD

Do try the local rice beer known as Lungri or it's more distilled version Arak.

Guest access
We are located in the middle of an apple orchard overlooking endless valley and towering mountain views which you can enjoy from the comfort of our really cosy house. We have sittings in our garden, wooden balcony deck and our cute and super comfy common area which you would never want to leave. We also have a hammock placed in the middle of the orchard. You can use our yoga mats to do yoga or just soak in some good mountain sun.

Our common room is filled with board games, books and is also the best place to enjoy your meals.

Other things to note
Our place is 14 km away from Manali bus stand and it takes at least 30-40 mins to reach here. In case you are planning to visit Manali or tourist points like Rohtang, Solang Valley etc we can help arrange a cab for you.

Please note that you need to take special permission from Manali SDM office if you are coming by your own vehicle or outstation cabs. The permission is for Rs.100 only and is very easy to obtain during the office working hours (10 am - 5 pm except on Sundays, second Saturdays and National holidays) In case you take a local taxi, the taxi guy will arrange it by themselves.

The last 10 km stretch to our place is a steep drive with 33 curves and the road conditions are not very comfortable. The road is usually accessible all around the year.

We provide HIGH-SPEED Wi-Fi. Also, all phone networks have excellent coverage at the site.

We have three super friendly local shepherd dogs at the site. The walk from the main road till our house is a 50 mt downhill one.

There is work still going on at the site which is why we haven't opened it to kids as yet.
