Cozy cottage located on a quiet backroad overlooking a wide open field & back deck provides warm & sunny space for relaxing or reading a book. The kitchen is fully equipped. BFC has a warm farm house feel w/ a touch of the beach. The bathroom has been updated to a more modern feel. Located only a few miles from both seaside and bayside boat ramps. A 7 minute drive to Onancock, Walmart, YMCA, shopping & many local shops for just the right souvenir. Wallops & Chincoteague are just a short drive.

The space
We recently updated our deck with beautiful TREX boards. Because we don’t want fire mishaps on the deck, We moved the grill to the yard or we can leave it on the concrete slab, just let us know.

Smoking of ANY kind is NOT allowed inside our home! Outside ONLY!

Also we recently installed a Speed Queen washing machine to make washing faster! We ask that you are gentle with it. We have child safety locks for use if needed to keep them kiddos safe so they can’t get into the cleaning supply cabinets.

We are only a few minutes from downtown Onancock which has an outside farmers market on Saturdays from May to September and a winter market inside October to May. Lots of historical homes, local shops, and great places to dine. Food Lion & Walmart and other shopping are just down the road.

SERVICE ANIMALS that are trained to work or perform tasks for the benefit of an individual with a disability are welcome. We just ask that you let us know that you’re bringing a certified service animal. We have to take extra cleaning measures after you depart.

Guest access
The code for the lock will be provided within 24 hours of your arrival depending on when the cottage is ready. Please enter & exit from the back door where your private code is located. This is for your safety & ours.
The entire house is for your use except the pantry closet and the attic door.

Other things to note
If you are coming alone, feel free to ask for a reduced cleaning fee.

We provide everything you could need to get you started. We have snacks, bottled water, coffee & tea, Powered creamer, Sugar & Sugar substitutes. Plenty of paper products, trash bags, dish detergent, cleaning products, and a few Tide pods or Liquid Tide. If you’re staying longer than 2-3 days, you may want to bring your own just in case.

The small grey & white barn is where your trash goes, The grills are located as well as a few beach chairs and coolers. Please close and lock the door after each use.

Due to maintaining
our septic system, we only provide septic safe toilet paper. If you would like to bring your own you are welcome.

Many restaurants close earlier here than in the city. You are welcome to arrive anytime (prefer before dark) but if you plan to arrive later in the evening, you should plan to eat before arriving. Approximate drive time to nearby attraction:

1 hour 15 minutes to Ocean City MD
1 hour to Salisbury MD
1 hour 25 minutes to VA Beach / Norfolk VA

Neighbourhood highlights

Quiet and tranquil setting off a Rt. 316, so quiet you can hear the whippoorwills in the evening. Our small farm is on the backside of the cottage property. We have honey bees on the property, so we ask that you do not disturb them.

BFC is disabled woman Veteran Owned & Managed cottage that was once our home. We are Tia & Trower Bell. Trower is a self employed mechanic born & raised on the ESVA & Tia is retired from the US Coast Guard, after 33 years of service. We are a Christian family and a hard working couple that enjoys our animals, beekeeping, gardening, Boating & Hosting our Guests! We love our dogs mostly & our new grandson! We are very blessed to have this life!
