Everything was fine, we have spent a great week in Jardim do Mar. Communication and process of check-in, check-out were very friendly and straightforward, the appartment was clean and equiped as expected from description and photos, we would definitely love to come back to this beautiful place in Madeira

Jardim do Mar is a tranquil village in a very pretty spot of Madeira. For the most part cars are not allowed into the village and the waves rolling onto the shore is literally the only audible noise at night. More restaurants can be found in the surrounding towns along the coast or up in the mountains. Casa das Pedras is a new and neat place situated on a hill side leading to the ocean. The place comfortably fits four people (most suitable for two couples or a family with two school-aged children). The house offers good value for money, the surrounding houses have a better - but this also reflects in their higher price. The place is still very new and it will probably become more cozy once it will feel a little more lived in. Kitchen equipment is sufficient to dine four. Many thanks to Ray, who was an excellent host. Communication was smooth, quick, very friendly and very accurate.

Had a great time at Casa days Pedras over the new Year. Communication was excellent, Ray wasn't there at the time but we were met by Lucia who took us to our villa and helped with any questions. The villa was great and was great value for money. It's about a 6 minute walk from the village centre with steps so if you are brining shopping or have difficulty walking bear this in mind. The villa is right next to the sea which we found fab, there can be fairly big waves so watch out for the noise if that kind of thing bothers you. For those who like their vino we couldn't find a bottle opener but rest assured there is one now! The village was in our opinion is the best in Maderia, we spent a great night with the locals on New Years and ended up eating soup and rolls and dancing with them, great experience! Thanks to Joe from Joe's bar and Annie (Expat) who we met there and who made us feel so welcome. We really hope to come back to Maderia and would definately choose this village and host again. Many thanks, Jaime & Lynsey.

Casa das Pedras was my first booking via airbnb. Ray and Margaret gave us an excellent description for finding Jardim do Mar. The house was perfect, very spacious and from the rooms on the first floor one can see the sea and hear the waves crashing - awesome! Our hosts gave us a warm welcome, made it easy for us to start vacations in one of the most beautiful places on Madeira and were there for us in case we needed help. Jardim do Mar is a good place to start visiting the island - but you need a car! You should also discover nature in Jardim do Mar`s surroundings and relax at night in Joe`s Bar. We definitely do not recommend to eat at Tar Mar. It is easy to find the supermarkets and buy everything you like there - Casa das Pedra`s kitchen makes it possible to prepare everything you like :-) Spending your time in Casa das Pedras in Jardim do Mar is definitely a very good decision!

Casa das Pedras was a lovely place to base our time on Madeira. You really can't go wrong staying in Jardim do Mar - it's as beautiful as they say it is! We slept with the sliding doors open every night, listening to the crashing waves and waking up to them in the morning. There were ample towels and bedding, and Lucia, the local who helps Ray coordinate when he's not on the island, was lovely and responsive whenever we had questions. Ray was also quick and responsive in all our communication, and gave us good information about local supermarkets, etc. Make sure to go to Joe's Bar (it's a short and beautiful walk away) to have great food and try the poncha!
