Great location
100% of recent guests gave the location a 5-star rating.
The only cabin on the Red River and actually inside the Gorge. The large porch looks into the river 25' below. It has a charcoal grill, fire pit, and kayak/canoe launch. In the loft are queen & twin size beds. Below, is a futon/bed, kitchen and bathroom/shower. The kitchen has a full fridge, 2-burner stove, microwave, coffeemaker, pots/pans, flatware etc. It has TV, heat, A/C, fans, wifi, and a 10% discount on boat trips at nearby "Red River Adventure". Bring your boats and swimsuits!

The space
Unlike almost all other advertised cabins in the area, this cabin is actually inside the Gorge and surrounded by miles of Forest Service lands. Due to it's remote location there is no "city" water. The cabin is on a well water system. While we drink the water, we highly recommend that you bring bottled water for drinking purposes. We do have satellite wifi (no broadband available here). It has data caps, so please no downloading movies/games. But you should be able to check email, FaceBook and use you phones to make calls.

Where you’ll be

Many rental cabins claim to be "in the Gorge", when in fact they may be miles away. This cabin is one of the few actually located in the Gorge, and is the only one on the Red River.
We live about 100 yards across the road from the cabin. We like to welcome our guests and give them any needed info about the area.
Other than our home and boat business, there are no buildings, houses, stores etc. within miles of the cabin. Bring food and drinks with you.

We have lived in many states and foreign countries, have experienced many cultures, people and foods......and have enjoyed them all. We understand what it's like to travel into unfamiliar places, and make every effort to ensure that our guests are comfortable, safe, and have an enjoyable experience. We won't intrude on you. But if you need anything, please let us know. We settled here nearly 20 years ago at a time when few people traveled to the Gorge. We bought a small sawmill, cut timber ourselves and made most of our own lumber with which we built our home and the cabin. Originally, we used the cabin as a guest house for visiting family. At that time there was no thought of turning it into part of the business. We began a small canoe and kayak rental business originally ran from our home. It grew quickly forcing us to move it to it's current location 400 yards downstream from the cabin. When our son returned from serving in Iraq, we happily gave him the boat rental business. Relax and enjoy the area while you are here. Cabin guests get a 10% discount on our boat rentals/services. We want you to have a memorable stay. Again, if you need anything let us know.
