The place is very cozy, has it's soul, and just perfect for relaxing and enjoying the nature. When we were searching for a place to relax from a noisy city just for a couple of days, we already liked it just from the pictures and the accurate description. But as soon as we arrived, we were so pleasantly surprised by how welcoming the house and the owners are. Nick and Marlies are wonderful hosts! Thank you so much for letting us stay in your house. It has been a wonderful experience.

Nick and Marlies were fantastic hosts of their comfortable and scenic home in the forest. The home is spacious and perfectly designed for a couple or family to enjoy a getaway that seems like you are in a secluded forest while actually only being 10 minutes walk from the Borkheide DB train stop which we took to Berlin for our city tours. I was a little worried about train noise based on my experience of American trains but the German trains are almost silent and we only heard what sounded like light rain noise when a train passed by. Amazing! Nick and Marlies also accommodated my crazy radio hobby by allowing me to set up an antenna in their back yard for a weekend competition I entered while in Germany. They did everything possible to assist in shipping some equipment back and forth within Germany so I would not have to bring as much in my luggage. They exceeded all my hopes in helping me accomplish my goals. Within easy walking distance are two grocery stores and a fine hotel restaurant to cover any food need you might have while there. The kitchen is well equipped and has plenty of refrigerator space if needed. There are plenty of windows throughout for excellent views of the forest and for ventilation when needed. There are 2 bedrooms upstairs and a very large daybed downstairs (which was perfect for afternoon naps). My wife and I are in our 60s and are reasonably fit but the stairs are fairly shallow and may not be suitable for anyone older or with physical issues however there are handrails making it very manageable and safe. Nick and Marlies can also host events (weddings, parties, music recording, light show, etc.) in their converted barn only a few steps away on the same property. They have built beautiful accommodations inside the barn structure if you happen to want to host an event during your visit. Everything is very neat, clean and safe. Marlies also has a wonderful eye for gardening with many beautiful flowers decorating the entire property. It is truly a paradise and we enjoyed our visit immensely!

Unbedingt empfehlenswert!

We were a little later than we thought because of traffic but Nick was so welcoming to us! They took us around and offered us to keep our boats in their barn. The place is so beautiful and the garden is flawlessly done. You could sit and look at the surroundings all night. The house itself was clean, tidy and exactly as expected if not better! Would reccomend to a friend or to anyone. We didnt get to spend as much time there as we would have liked as we were busy but was so pretty! The cats are friendly and we both felt right at home!

Nick's house is really extra comfortable - it is very spacious clean and full of light. The down stairs living room area was our favorite - with a huge raised matress to hang out on, big enough for a family. The surroundings of the house are beautiful with a well cared for garden and woods beyond it. The area had a lot of interesting places for us to explore - Nick and Marlies gave us suggestions of where to go - and they were excellent choices! Meeting Nick and Marlies was a very warm and positive experience we had a few chats with them and they are very interesting and kind people. I hope to stay with them again. Naama and David

Arriving with hugs and friendly smiles, these two are wonderful hosts to stay with. Everything from blankets to cake to fireside discussion, it's a nourishing home away from home. I feel safe and happy when I'm in this place - and we've been twice in the last month! We had a few mosquitos this time but a wonderful time in the woods regardless. Thank you!

Our stay at the romantic house in the forest was fantastic! It is a beautiful place to be, to relax and to play with your children. Nick and Marlies welcomed us and showed us around. They are very friendly and warm people. Their house is very comfortable and pleasant to stay in. Very functional, but still warm and cosy. The garden is awesome! Very big, but still safe for children to play in. There is a little pirate house with a slide, there are two swings, a sandpit and lots of space to run, play with a ball or play hide and seek. And if the garden is not enough, there is also a forest right on the other side of the fence! Last but not least, there are multiple places to start a campfire; 2 outside and one inside the house (wood stove). To sum it up, the streetname (Paradiesweg) says it all: it's a little paradise! Thank you, Nick and Marlies. We really enjoyed our stay at your house. We'll be happy to come back to visit again!
