Jazz is slightly set back and the a great sea view. We are a boutique B&B or full board holiday, nestled in the native tree canopy, it overlooks the iconic Split Apple Rock and golden/black sand beach and the Nelson and Kaikoura ranges.

Moonraker House is only a 10-minute drive to the famed Kaiteriteri beach and 8 minutes to Marahau, the last small township before the incredible Abel Tasman National Park walk. Motueka is just a 20-minute drive and is 50/60 minutes from Nelson City.

The space
We restrict ourselves to two guest rooms to ensure both your privacy and our ability to provide you with our full attention. Each room sleeps two in either a king size bed or two single beds.

The rooms are named after the apples that are grown in this region, "Jazz" and "Gala" and both can be booked separately on Air B and B should you need more than two guests. Please use the Air B and B app to visit and book both rooms on their calendar should you need them.

Both rooms have a king sized bed that can split into singles and sleep up to two per room. Each room is equipped with an underfloor heated ensuite, air conditioning, ceiling fan and free WiFi. There is private access to the deck from each room and both overlook the famous Split Apple Rock.

Each room has access to the large kitchen for making tea or coffee and we are available to provide home style full board service. Self-service laundry is available or, we can provide a laundry service starting at $30 on request. Our open plan living space is there for all to enjoy.

Welcome / nau mai. we are Jim and Terri. We designed and built this Tree House style bed and breakfast to maximize your experience and to leave you with wonderful memories. Our guests arrive as strangers and leave as friends. We first visited New Zealand in 1994 on our honeymoon from the UK and fell in love with the Nelson and Tasman region. Our experience compelled us to moved here and we are now NZ citizens with our two boys Peter and Chris and our cat Zozzy and two loving dogs Holly and Yob. Our passion is promoting this region and ensuring our guests feel spoilt, relaxed and enriched during and after your stay at Moonraker House on Split Apple Rock beach. Whilst we advertise as a Bed and Breakfast we also offer full board, home style lunch and dinner and also specialise in significant celebrations. Vegan / vegetarian options are available. We endeavor to obtain all our vegetables locally and all our meat is sustainable and ethically sourced to ensure excellent animal welfare practices are upheld and to obtain the best local flavours for our guests. With our property edging onto the unique beach you have the luxury of being able to forage for fresh mussels ordrop a line in for a fish. We have fishing rods for your use too. We are blessed with Little Blue Penguins and glow worms in the caves at night. There are shags/cormorants nesting or flying on the thermals at eye level along with other beautiful native birds entertaining us with their song and dance in the tree tops. If your lucky you could witness dolphins and the occasional pod of whales from the deck. Moonraker is ideal to simply relax and unwind, If you choose full board option for your stay we have a beautiful deck that encircles the property, choose your sunny spot and bask the day away with the outstanding views and local entertainment or a good book with your favorite beverage. The house is also a perfect place for an excursion into the National Park, we are able to arrange for tour boat operators to pick our guests up from the beach in front of the house. Alternatively our Bed & Breakfast option provides our guests with very comfortable accommodation and a lovely breakfast to set you up for your days excursions. We can suggest and arrange day trip activities for you if you need local advice on best places to spend the day. Whatever you want we are here to help. You could not want for a more idyllic honeymoon location, with the beach all to yourselves at sunrise and sunset. We offer extensions and late breakfasts to our honeymooners with advanced discussion. Terri is an awarded registered Celebrant and Event Consultant. We provide beautiful elopement and micro event packages at Moonraker House. We can hold your micro wedding or other significant life event here at the house with all the serenity it provides together with one of the most iconic beaches in NZ' Split Apple Rock, the perfect picture back drop for the ceremony or candle lit proposal , which can also be seen from the deck if a Plan B option is called for. Alternatively you might like to enjoy the property for your event preparations or hire our kitchen? So what ever the occasion or you just simply want the best view in the region, we are really look forwards to meeting you.
