Laurel's place is a true gem. We loved it! The scenery was amazing. It only took us 20 min to get to the airport.

Laurel’s place was lovely. We stayed one night and it was the perfect start to our trip around Costa Rica. It is a little off the path which gives the place beautiful views. Laurel recommended a place for dinner and it was delicious. I would stay there again!

My experience and thoughts about the Airbnb: * the washer and dryer were loud, but worked! * there was hot water, there is a hot water switch that needs to be turned on to get it. * beds were comfy * banana trees actually had ripe bananas on them that we were able to pick * the p…

Response from Laurel:
thank you for your detailed review, I see there are some things I need to tend to. I can replace pots and pans and close up the openings in the house. It is a wood house and the wood does shrink and expand with the seasons. It is a constant upkeep. I am surprised to hear about the cats, I have no idea how they could possibly get in the house and after having had renters for six months straight without a comment on this I am surprised all of a sudden they are getting in. I do know if you do let them in they will curl up somewhere to sleep and can be locked inside at night. But I will investigate. the woman who lives at the gate is my caretakers family. They are specifically there to give keys to the renters as they come and go. So it wasn't lucky they were there, they are supposed to be there for that reason. I know the day after you arrived you wanted to change your plans and I explained that I have a relaxed cancellation policy and can't refund money after the arrival date. It would have been nice to talk to me about your complaints but I understand why you want to share it on a public forum. I hope you enjoy the rest of your trip.

If you are looking for a place that is close to the city but is secluded as well, I would recommend staying here. You are surrounded by plenty of exotic fruit trees and a garden. The house was in very good condition with a beautiful view of San Jose and some mountains.

Nice place to land after a long flight. Beautiful garden and a large wooden house with plenty of space. 30 minute drive to San José city center. General tip for most Costarican AirBnb's; buy a local simcard at the Kölbi booth at the bagage claim for €22 (for 2gb data) and inst…
