Step back in time and unplug at Pine-No-More, an adorably rustic 1930’s cedar shingle cottage tucked beneath tall white pines on a .5 acre lot in a residential neighborhood within walking distance of Webster Lake. Relax in our Wood Fired Hot Tub in the back yard after hiking, skiing or snowmobiling. The Northern Rail Trail is 2/3 mile away. Also enjoy our beach chairs, beach toys, zipline, trampoline, and campfire ring. Great for small families and couples. Dog-friendly!

The space
Simple, small, retro-hip, and comfortable. Barely bigger than a tiny house at 600 square feet (including the lovely 200 square foot screened in porch), but just enough space to relax. With a few hints of rustic luxury, you might consider a visit to Pine-No-More "glamping." Get a great night sleep on a queen-size organic bed with 2 all-natural toppers (one latex and one feather) and 750 thread count sheets. While we will provide you with some creature comforts, please keep in mind that the cottage is intentionally simple and rustic. For example, we keep it very tidy, but because we are in the woods with an airy full screened in porch, some spiders might make their way in. Heated by a small wood stove, come ready to chop some wood. In the winter, be prepared for some chilly mornings before the wood stove gets going. There is one small bedroom with a queen bed and an adjacent bathroom. Two futons available also, one In the living room, other on screened porch.

The wooded lot allows for relaxing in the cedar wood-fired hot tub and there is enough space that kids can make tree forts and adults can watch while reading from the screened in porch. If you choose to sleep on the porch in the summer on the futon bed (2nd bed option), you may be lucky enough to hear the late night barred owls or the early morning loons. Dogs are welcome.

“Pine no More” is a tiny relaxing nature/lake retreat in a residential neighborhood, but only 2 miles from a a woodfired pizza and brewpub, mini mart, simple breakfast spot and ice cream shop!

The cottage is located on a 1/2 acre lot in a safe working class residential neighborhood where there is a mix of small vacation homes, middle and low income housing. There can be some be some noise, particularly on weekend nights. All neighbors are friendly, kind and helpful!

Additionally, there is plenty of hiking in the area as well. Try our local favorite: Mt Kearsarge. The trailhead is only about 20 minutes away, and at the end of a 1 mile (steep) climb, you’ll see views of Mt. Cardigan, Ragged Mountain and even Mt Chocurro and Mt Washington on a clear day.

Kayaking and canoeing (whitewater in the spring and summer!) on the nearby Pemmigewasett and Winnepausakee Rivers. Put-ins about 15 minutes away. Kayak rentals available in Franklin.

The town of Franklin is not (yet) a tourist destination, but there is a coffeeshop and Darn good Thai Food at Asian Delight in Franklin (5 minutes away).

Tilton Tanger Outlets about 15 minutes away.

If you are looking for a more “Quaint” town experience, take a trip to nearby town of Bristol 20 minutes away: great Mexican Restaraunt, brewpub, coffee shop, gift shops featuring local artists, and an ice cream shop that hosts amazing live music on Saturday nights. (See Manual for more info)

New London, about a 25 minute drive, has many wonderful restaraunts as well, including our local favorite (all-solar!) brewpub Flying Goose, where they brew about 15 wonderful microbrews onsite that change seasonally.

Proctor Academy in Andover, NH - 13 minutes away.

See “House Manual” for directions and more details on above info.

We are teachers who love the outdoors and traveling. We used to do tons of backpacking and sleeping under the stars, and hope to do more of that now that our kids are school-aged. (Lately, they have been spending time outdoors on our wooded lot in NH building fires and tree forts!) In our 20's we traveled to India, Guatemala, Mexico and Thailand as backpackers. More recently, we have been to Spain and Italy using Air B n B when we can. We will be introducing our kids to international travel this year as we plan a two week excursion learning Spanish and snorkeling in Panama. We love to share our little slice of heaven in the lakes region of NH in our simple cottage. We love meeting our guests and helping them experience the outdoors in New England -- even if it is just as far as our backyard fire pit and hot tub.
