Awarded 4 Stars by Visit Britain. Guests say the lodge is clean, comfortable, cosy, beautifully appointed, relaxing and good value. Perfectly placed in the Northern Lake District, near Penrith, Keswick, Ullswater, Derwentwater and Bassentwaite lake.
The Lodge has been described by previous visitors as clean, comfortable, cosy, beautifully appointed, relaxing and very good value for money.
The Lodge is perfectly placed in the northern Lake District to explore the whole region by car, not far from towns Penrith, Carlisle and Keswick nestling on the fringe of Greystoke Forest. Ullswater, Derwentwater and Bassenthwaite Lake are within easy reach as are many delightful climbs - Catbells, Blencathra and Latrigg to name just a few. Castlerigg Stone Circle, just outside Keswick, is perhaps the most atmospheric and dramatically sited of all British stone circles.
The Lodge is our private holiday home and is comfortably furnished and equipped to a high standard. There are 2 twin bedrooms sleeping 4 people comfortably, fitted kitchen with integrated appliances, open plan lounge/dining area with flat screen TV, DVD and Hi-fi. Landline and Free Wifi Internet connection.

Interaction with guests
Our housekeeper will leave the space ready for you upon arrival.
Other things to note
We want you and the wildlife to enjoy yourselves, we therefore ask that you keep your speed to a minimum on the gravel road leading to the lodge.
MAXIMUM OCCUPANCY of 4 people (includes Children and grandparents).
DO NOT book for someone else as your booking will be cancelled if you are not staying yourself.
PLEASE NOTE After you leave we each write a review about each other. Me about you as our guest and you about me as your host. This review is posted and visible by anyone. Future hosts do check you out. A bad report almost automatically means no one will wish to host you in the future.
I write my review based on how we find our space left, how well you’ve communicated with me, followed our house rules and should our neighbours have made complaints I will mention them. We expect to clean - but not tidy up mess, wash pots, empty your unused food from the fridge and throw out your rubbish. Everything should look and be back where it was found and in perfect condition with any damage/breakages reported.
Having been born in Switzerland it's natural for me to love the hills, rivers and lakes.
For leisure I enjoy walking, running, training working gun dogs, photography, listening to live music, woodturning, yoga and more besides.
