Bay Tree Cottage is currently an undiscovered gem, being a newly refurbished traditional Victorian end-of-terrace cottage in the attractive village of Westbourne. Original characteristics have been carefully retained, but contemporary comforts and design features have been added. In the winter guests can enjoy an open log fire, in addition to efficient central heating, and to relax in the sun there is a roof terrace overlooking adjacent gardens plus a patio area for outdoor eating and barbecues.
Bay Tree Cottage has wireless internet BT infinity, TV/DVD player and DAB radio/CD player: for guests who enjoy reading there is fiction and non-fiction and interesting prints decorate the walls.
A kitchen/dining area is fully equipped to include dishwasher and microwave. The bathroom provides both bath and shower. A washing machine is fitted with full laundry facilities.
Upstairs are two bedrooms: one with a comfortable king-sized bed whilst the second is generously twin bedded. Children are welcome: a travel cot and high-chair, along with other nursery necessities, can be provided on request.
Secure private parking is available at the back of the cottage.
Westbourne is superbly placed for visits to Chichester, Goodwood, Portsmouth and the Isle of Wight, being situated between the South Downs and the Solent. (There is a place for walkers' muddy boots or sailors' wet kit in the cottage.) The village has a small number of excellent shops, a really good fish and chip shop, an Indian restaurant which supplies excellent take-aways and two pubs with dining areas; although guests will be supplied with bread, milk and wine etc. as part of the warm welcome they will receive.
Emsworth and the sea are a twenty minute walk along an unmade-up-road ... perfect occupation for time out from busy life.
