Spectacular Kennebec River and Squirrel Point Lighthouse views. Eagles and osprey soar, beautiful sunrises, and night skies are seen from the porch. A place for quiet relaxation, with Bijhouwer Forest Preserve trails and many other trails nearby. The cabin works best for two people, or a small family who doesn't mind simple living and using an outhouse. Access is up a hillside path and steps to cabin. Close to beautiful Popham Beach State Park and the city of Bath.

The space
The two room cabin has basic electricity, an outhouse and no running water. Rain water is gravity fed to sink for washing up, drinking water is provided. Kitchen is stocked with pots and pans, cooking utensils, dishes and silverware, a gas range and small refrigerator. Spices, coffee, decaf, tea, and cooking supplies such as flour, oil and basic condiments (ketchup, mustard, relish and mayo) are provided. Outside options include a gas grill, outside lobster pot and burner and a fire ring. Fire wood is on site. Bathing: Battery pump operated indoor bucket shower or rinse at Center Pond. Toilet: Outhouse or indoor camping bucket toilet for emergencies at night. Heat: Woodstove and portable heater.

The cabin is on a hill and Phippsburg Center village is the closest neighborhood. It consists of historic homes, and is a quiet place. The Phippsburg Library and Historical Society Museum are pleasant places to visit. There is wifi at the library.
