WARNING: the shower is very short, tall people will need to duck. Thehouse is right off the freeway so there's some noise. This space is odd.
A quiet space walking distance or a quick bike ride from parks, great bars and restaurants. The unit is a closed-off basement; living room/kitchen area, two bedrooms and bathroom. Our laundry is in the living room so we might need to use it (usually not). Self-check in makes it easy to come and go.
WARNING: The bathroom is totally weird and the shower is really really short. If it's a big problem, we have a shower upstairs you can use - you just need to let us know. Also, the space is right off the freeway, so there is some noise.
You'll be staying in the back half of a basement in a historic high-water bungalow in an old neighborhood of Downtown Sacramento. The bedroom room is off a larger "living" room with a big sink, washer/dryer, futon, smart TV and access to the backyard. Guests will come and go from the backyard entrance, which is down the left side of the house. You'll basically have an apartment all to yourself.
The space has a microwave, hot plate, mini-fridge and cooking utensils.
Unless we need to do laundry, we should stay out of your space completely. We'll let you know if that needs to happen. If you want to meet us shoot us a text, otherwise we'll give you privacy.
The room itself is a good sized room with a closet. Because it's a basement it says cool most of the time, even during the heat of the summer, but if you get chilly there's a wall heater in the living room and a space heater in the bedroom.
There's also a lovely backyard area with a picnic table to have a breakfast or BBQ dinner.
Guests come and go from the backdoor, through the backyard. When you arrive go down the alley between the two houses to the left of 905. It can look dark but we have motion lights that will come on when you approach.
The main room in the basement contains our washer/dryer, mostly we won't be using it when guest are staying with us, but if we need it - we'll communicate with you.
Interaction with guests
I love Sacramento. One of the reasons I wanted to do AirBnB was because I love to help travelers discover all the fun hidden gems of this city.
So if you need suggestions for restaurants, bars, fun things to do - just let me know.
The beauty of this space is it's private. If you're in town for business and just need to crash - no worries. You can come and go and never really interact with us at all. If you need something text, if you want to meet us, just say so - otherwise, we'll give you space.
Other things to note
WARNING: The bathroom is totally weird and the shower is really really short. It will get you wet and so far all our guests have made it work. If it's a big problem, we have a shower upstairs you can use - you just need to let us know.
This house is located right off the Freeway - which is great for easy access to lots of things - however there is the constant hum of the freeway. The basement room is set back and so the noise isn't super noticeable - but it's something to consider.
We do live upstairs, but from what I can tell noise doesn't travel much between the units. That being said, you may hear us moving around in the mornings and evenings.
Also, this place is really funky - light switches are in odd places, rooms are set up in weird ways, the shower is really short (requires some hunching to get fully wet), it's just a funky basement space - so if you're cool with some character - you'll have a lovely time.
No illegal drugs, no smoking indoors (obviously). If you choose to hang out outside at night be considerate of our neighbors.
Generally, don't be a jerk and we'll be fine.
I am easy going and open minded. I like creating a comfortable space for all. Being outdoors and in nature is my favorite place to be.
