This stylish cozy wood cabin is located right on the slopes of Mt Kipipiri in the Nyandarwa Ranges (Aberdare). This location comes with fresh mountain air, singing birds, tall mature indigenous forest trees, shy Colobus monkeys , views of the Kinangop Plateau and STARS at night.

Come to relax, rejuvenate and unplug in this private, secluded Kenyan countryside just 2 hours from Nairobi. Perfect for a weekend getaway for couples or you and your girls

The space
The space is a wood cabin on a mountain side with a large deck that oversees a beautiful forest and sweeping views of the plains below. We're set on a 5 acre property that is home to sheep, 2 cows and friendly dog.The kitchenette is on the deck so you cook your meals outside to these views. At night the stars are clear and stunning.

The interior is decorated with fabric, large windows for fresh air and views and contains two queen beds in an open room. Nights can be very cold but the wooden house keeps warm.

We provide tea, coffee, sugar, salt and some selected spices to flavor your meals. You can request for fresh farm milk, freshly milled 100% wheat/maize/porridge flours, free range organic eggs to be delivered to you for your morning pancakes, porridge or breakfast of your choice. All these are sourced from local farms in the country side and you cook this on the patio to spectacular views.

There is no electricity, we have solar lamps and a way to charge mobile phones by USB solar chargers or power banks. Come to unplug and keep your phone away - your mind will thank you for it.

The toilet and shower are right outside the cabin. Tastefully decorated with flowers and shrubs. The showers are cold and refreshing - you can request hot water for a bucket shower.

We have a fire pot where you can keep warm in the evening with charcoal fires, we also have an open Jiko for a barbecue.

Being on a steep hillside, the last 600m to the property gate is inaccessible by car. On rainy seasons the last 800m is also inaccessible by car. Guests hike up the rest of the way and the caretaker will carry their luggage. Cars are parked along the path up to the cabin where they are safe.

Where you’ll be

Mawingo, Nyandarua County, Kenya

The neighborhood is a rural farmland in central Kenya where people keep farm animals and till their farms. There is a small town 1km away that has groceries, beer and township hotels. I love the space because It's located on a secluded spot next to the Aberdare forest line so we don't have nosy / noisy neighbors just the sound of the wild and fresh mountain air.
