Where you’ll be

Pecos, New Mexico, United States

Our neighborhood abuts the Pecos National Historic Park within view of the Sanger de Christo mountains and Rowe Mesa. The area is classified as high desert and transitional. At 6900 ft. We enjoy a mixed piñon, juniper and pine forest along with sagebrush, cactus, chamisa, and other dry land vegetation. The community is culturally diverse, friendly and has a mixture of people who work locally and those who commute to Santa Fe and Las Vegas (NM) for work.

I am a retired registered nurse. My husband and I have traveled the world and wish to offer a great guest experience to those wishing to explore northern New Mexico. We are both long term meditators and avid organic gardeners. Our home is quiet, in a quiet rural neighborhood (most 2 acre plots) and we have 3 cats and feed several feral cats daily. Our home is located 6 miles (by road) from the Pecos National Historic Park and near the Pecos wilderness area. We are 20 miles from Santa Fe. Local outdoor experiences abound: hiking, fishing, camping and cultural experiences and shopping are 1/2 to 2 Hour drives away: Santa Fe, Taos, Los Alamos, Indian Pueblos and so much more. There are several restaurants in Pecos (7 miles away).

During your stay

Your hosts live in the adjoining home and are available for local information and do not mind being asked for help, etc., it is not a “ bother.” We do, however, honor your privacy. We also enjoy getting to know our guests. So, the amount of interaction between guests and hosts will be, for the most part, up to guests. We will check you in and out. Interaction during the rest of the visit will be up to guests and circumstances as they arise ( i.e. requests for restaurant recommendations, BBQ and patio sharing time or chance meetings in the garden, etc.)
