This place is perfect for enjoying Viñales, an amazing town located in the western part of Cuba (Pinar del Río province) with a unique geography and countryside environment. The house has three small rooms for guests, so is perfect for small groups. Simple and comfortable equipped, and managed by a friendly local family, this house is a great base for enjoying the delights of the town and Viñales´ Valley. Detail: Rooms are small, if you are looking for a lot of space, this is not the place!

The space
David's message for the guests: Hi! I live in Havana where I take care of more listings. Though I would love to meet you all, I can't be in all places at the same time. You are in good hands with Idania's family. If you need to contact me, please call to my cell phone the number is in your reservation!
Villa El Cañón is a family house prepared with three independent small rooms and very well located just in the center of Viñales Town. You will have the opportunity of meeting Idania's family, they have been renting their house for a long time, so they are very expert hosts. Though they don´t speak English they know how to make sure that you satisfy all your needs and also will help with any arrangements.
There is Internet access in the house, ask your host for instructions to connect. You will need to buy the regular Internet access cards available in all the country to use the WIFI.
The house is very clean, and has several common areas on which you can work, have meals, and just enjoy a peaceful rest.
Every room has it's own independent bathroom with cold/hot water 24 hours. This particular room is equipped with AC and two comfortable personal beds. Ideal for a couple, or for two friends.

Guest access
Guests can enjoy the portal at the entrance of the house, the yard, the terrace in the roof with a nice local view of the local mountains and the neighborhood, and the dining room (in this area there is also a collective refrigerator where you can store anything you need). You can have meals in the areas of your preference.

Other things to note
Traveling to some other places? Check David’s profile for listings in other destinations, where our friend hosts will ensure you a wonderful stay.
The hosts are the best source of information on options for eating, transportation, getting guided tours, or just planing routes if you wanna go to explore on your own. It's better to ask them first about prices to avoid local rogues that overcharge tourists.
For orientation purposes I'll give you some information here, though take it carefully, price may vary and I might not be able to update this on time. If you get new info during your trip I'll appreciate the feedback to update the info and help others!
-A cab in Havana (for reaching Viazul bus station, or for going from the station to the accommodation): 10 CUC as an average, you can negotiate for less, perhaps 7 CUC. If you get it for 5 you are a great negotiator!
-Viazul bus price (to go from Havana to Viñales or from Viñales to Havana): 12 CUC per person.
-Collective taxi (to go from Havana to Viñales or from Viñales to Havana): 20 CUC per person. You can try for 15 CUC but it might be difficult and then you spend a lot of time finding the cheaper ride.
-A cab just for you (to go from Havana to Viñales or from Viñales to Havana, picking you in the accommodation and taking you straight to your new accommodation address): 80 CUC no matter if for one or more persons. This is a good price, generally for an old American car not very pretty but with a good engine. This offer is difficult to find so when appears, get it, mostly recommended for more than one person or if you are hurry. There are modern cars to do the run faster and with AC, but they will charge between 90 and 120 CUC depending on the driver.
-A car for you to drive: Rent it only in official state owned facilities. The price will be around 100 CUC per day. Try to rent it in advance before coming to Cuba, here this can be complicated to find in the high season. Search on the Internet for Rex car agency and see the offers there.

Location

Viñales, Pinar del Río, Cuba

Villa El Cañón is the perfect place to get into Viñales. Located in the center of the town, it is close to restaurants, the local Viazul bus station, banks and ATMs, Internet WIFI spots (in the ETECSA office, 50 meters close to the house), groceries markets, etc. If you ask, Idania´s family will suggest guided tours or routes if you are going on your own, and also they will recommend local experts (tobacco farm owners, cigar handcraft, climbers...).

I'm a young professor at the University of Havana, and entrepreneur in tourism and accommodation business. I have a passion for my city and country, and I'll be happy if I can help you to discover the essence of Cuba and Cubans. I have developed a wide net of friends that rent rooms and houses through all the country, so right now, I'm adding these listings to my profile, to help them with the promotion. As mine, these places are great! I invite you to check the other listings and if you already have plans to travel around, you can secure the accommodation in advance. My goal is to ensure that throughout your travel route, you can stay with wonderful hosts that will love to make your holiday unforgettable.

During your stay
Idania and her family are very nice, polite and helpful. They can give you a lot of tips about Viñales (restaurants, interesting routes, excursions, bikes for rent, transportation, etc.). They will do their best effort to make your stay unforgettable.
They will provide breakfast, lunch, and dinner for a fee if you request it (though price might vary, generally breakfast are for 5 CUC per person, and lunch/dinner 10 CUC per person). Beers, soft drinks and bottled water are also available for a fee (these products are stored in the collective refrigerator). You can also ask the family to wash your clothes for a price to be agreed.
If you need an iron or hair dryer, Idania will lend you one.
If you want an official parking area you can get the service for a fee one block closer to the house.
If you want more exercise besides trekking on the valley, there´s a public open-air gym like 4 blocks close to the house, supplied with very simple tuning equipment.
