Aculae Farms presents, Gaia's Getaway! A 200+sqft Yurt, providing warmth and shelter from the elements on the edge of the Daniel Boone National Forest. With electric, water, freezer, wood stove, and composting toilet, this little Organic farm has all the essentials. All sustainable by practice and off the grid, Aculae farms is an eco-friendly option for the outdoor enthusiast. A new road brings guests right up to the yurt area, and weekly amenities are increasing! Come relax! Enjoy the serenity!

The space
Gaia's Getaway is a full functioning organic homestead perched on the edge of national forest. From walking our trails and gardens to hiking the back creek area or hoping over to the sheletowee trace, guests are constantly stimulated by the plethora of natural life found at Aculae Farms. Inside the yurt there is 200+sqft of finished floor space to get out of the wild for a bit. Solar power provides ample energy for lighting and laptop/cellphone charging, as well as running the freezer ( which can be a refrigerator if you remember to turn it off). To the right of the freezer across the threshold of the door sits the wood rack (stocked well for guests) and wood burning stove. Combined these two ingredients provide the heat to the Yurt and a solid cooking surface for 2-3 pots or pans (provided). In regards to electricity, the solar power charges a battery bank tucked under an end table and power is safely routed to two surge protectors at each end of the yurt. However there is not enough wattage to support space heaters or hair dryers. The queen sized memory foam mattress provides a wonderful nights rest as well as viewing platform to stare at the night's sky through the clear dome sitting atop the roof. The yurt is finished out with a collection of Kentucky nostalgia and a few bartending supplies (remember this is a dry county). Outside there is a small patio space with a hand and dish washing station as well as a Chargrill BBQ with propane burner. plenty of wood stacked nearby and a firepit allow for enjoyable bonfires at night. When answering natures call there is an "outhouse" about 10 feet from the yurt, however it is equipped with a modern nature's head composting toilet and automatic lighting. Trails are well marked and while parking is a couple hundred feet down the trail from Gaia's Getaway, we believe once you take the stroll, you'll want to stay!
