Wonderful panoramic 4 double BR, 3 BA, two terraces, views of domes & sights, old Rome history palace, frescoed sitting room w. coffered wood high ceiling, large dining-kitchen. Between Navona, Campo Fiori, Ghetto, Pantheon. Overlooks Turtle Fountain

The space
This wonderful panoramic and terraced apartment, called 'The Turtles' Dream', includes four double bedrooms, three sparkling bathrooms, an amazing sitting room, a most ample dining room / kitchen, a very ample terrace / roof garden with panoramic views of Rome's domes and sights, a second terrace to relax, and it is located in an authentic historical noble palace, in the heart of old Rome, and most characteristic, intriguing and charming.

It is nestled in the heart of Old Rome, between the Campo de' Fiori area, the Ghetto, the Piazza Navona quarter, the Pantheon and the Roman Forum. The palace is precisely located in Piazza Mattei, where you find the famous Turtle fountain, which can be seen from all its windows. It is one of Rome's most famous, and surely the most charming. There are four copies of it in the US alone.

The apartment is situated in the high floor (with elevator) of the famous palace 'Palazzo Costaguti'. You can find it shown in all history / architecture books and websites about Rome. This high vantage point makes the property bright, and it enables excellent views from its stunning panoramic terrace and also from its windows.
The panoramic terrace - roof garden is private, and it is 80 Sq. Mt. large (app. 820 Sq. Ft.), it is endowed with a charming table with chairs, an elegant and spacious sitting area in "rattan", deck chairs and an ample parasol. You can dine 'al fresco' or sip a glass of wine with spectacular views of most Rome's sights and sights. The panoramic terrace is accessed by means of elevator.

The apartment is 210 Sq. Mts. (app. 2,250 Sq. Ft.) large. It is situated at the 3rd European floor (of an old-fashioned palace, consequently it is equal to a 4th European floor and to a 5th American floor). As mentioned it is endowed with *elevator*. The apartment was just perfectly renovated. Each room has its own character and it is beautiful in its own right, for the tiles, décor, furniture, and paintings of old masters. The property is silent, inviting and bright. There is also a charming second terrace with table, perfect for a glass of wine, hobnobbing, to relax or to write emails.

The sitting room is amazing. It still preserves the original Renaissance (16th century) coffered wooden ceilings, and each of the 168 coffered frames displays a painting of a different species of birds. In the walls you find also finest frescoes of peacocks, interleaved with the intriguing coat of arms of the patrician family. The floors are also spectacular. They are made with original 'graniglia' tiles with beautiful design (unobtainable nowadays), different in the all the rooms.

All four double bedrooms (two matrimonial and two twin beds) have a peculiar charm, and from them you enjoy a direct view of the famous fountain in the square below (you can also hear its water gushing if you open the windows).

The dining room is very spacious, and together with the large kitchen it forms one large open-plan space of nearly. 40 Sq. Mt. (420 Sq. Ft.).

The property is equipped with all mod cons to ensure a most pleasant stay: air conditioning in all rooms, heating, internet Wi-Fi, complete kitchen equipment incl. American coffee percolator, microwave, dishwasher, fridge, freezer, toaster, orange squeezer, washing machine, clothes dryer.

Where you’ll be

Rome, Lazio, Italy

This wonderful apartment is located in the heart of Rome, between the Campo de' Fiori and the Jewish Ghetto, and near Piazza Navona, the Pantheon and the Roman Forum.
These famous central districts have a completely different personality: Piazza Navona is centred around the elegant square, its marvellous fountains and churches, and it is renowned for its chic, Dolce Vita atmosphere. Campo de' Fiori is Rome's liveliest area, with its morning market, its grocery shops, and its bohemian character. The Jewish Ghetto is uniquely intriguing, for its bi-millenary inhabitants and old Roman traditions, its historical shops / restaurants / and also its Jewish sights (the main synagogue, Rome's Jewish Museum etc.). In the end, the property is situated in a uniquely quintessential Rome location.

The apartment is situated in the historical Costaguti palace. In the square facing it you find the world-acclaimed, wonderful Fontana delle Tartarughe, or Turtles Fountains (1581), considered one of Rome's most beautiful.

Nearby you also find all Rome's sights, churches, monuments, squares, stately palaces, fountains, places of interest, historical landmarks, parks, museums, academies, without leaving aside the numberless restaurants, cafes, bars, shops (including those of artisans), artists' clubs, cinemas, and theatres.

While you will be able to easily access and enjoy all Rome's wonderful sights, you will also love the neighborhood around the palace. You find scores of family-run grocery stores (each with its peculiar specialty), bakers, confectioneries ('pasticcerie'), inviting restaurants, art and book shops, artisans' and artists' workshops. Shop owners are very welcoming and you will feel immediately part of the local community.
