This was the second time we had stayed at Anna's place, this time in the Garden Flat rather than the upstairs part of the building. We chose the Garden Flat specifically because it is .... in the garden. You open the double doors and are directly outside on the decking, where our dog loves to lie. Also we preferred the front door not opening onto the road (again, for the dog). Apart from that, the flat is more than enough space for two people (and a dog), the bed is amazingly comfortable and the kitchen well equipped with everything you need and in the bathroom you have a lovely big shower. This time we spent more time in and around Mont St Jean, as we had already seen many of the lovely towns, villages, castles and other places of interest last time on our slightly longer stay just over a year ago. There are lovely walks leaving directly from the property and the restaurant Le Medieval up the road is worth at least one visit. Anna is a very attentive host, responding to any questions very quickly and has helpful tips on where to go, eat and shop (the Bi1 supermarket in Saulieu is very good, offering a combination of usual supermarket ware as well as a big local products section). As Mont St Jean is very convenient to where we live and we love the area and the accommodation, I am sure we will be back again one day.

We stayed at Anna's apartment, which is the first floor of an old converted barn. The apartment was beautifully furnished and we loved spending time on the large terrace right outside our door. There are tables and chairs to set up lunch and enjoy the beautiful view of a vineyard and rolling hills. Our neighbors stayed on the second and third floor of the barn and were friendly. The town of Mont Saint Jean is charming and small, and the location is great for a quick and gorgeous drive to the Grand Cru Route with many wineries. We also loved the many unique offerings the towns nearby had, and Anna kept us informed if there was a fair or a market going on in a nearby town. We took her up on her tips and went to a fun street market in Saulieu, and a flea market/ garage sale in another nearby town. Our stay was truly magical and I wish it could've been longer! We cannot wait to return.

Lovely place in a wonderful village. Very peaceful. Nice little kitchen. Beautiful views across fields and vineyard. Only issue was the weather turned cold before arrival and the place is not really heated well. Has underfloor heating which works ok but doesn't really heat the place like a heater would. Not what I would call cosy. If you feel the cold there's not much alternative than getting into bed to stay warm. All in all pretty good though.

Response from Anna:
It was unfortunate for this guest that Burgundy was hit by an unseasonal cold snap early September. Underfloor heating does need a couple of days to get started and house is very well insulated so is normally very comfortable, during the colder months in Burgundy. .

Anna's place is beautiful and the small hamlet of Mont Saint John was very special. Really well located for Beaune and Dijon day trips with wonderful walks, a great restaurant and a fantastic castle all on your doorstep! There was some noise from upstairs as there were guests staying - they were quiet but the insulation is not so good so we slept with ear plugs. The bed is huge as so comfortable. The kitchen is really well equipped with plenty of storage and all the utensils you need. The views are incredible and we had a very happy, peaceful stay. Communication with Anna was easy and she even helped us a plan a wonderful walk, one of our highlights!
