The space
This place is ideal for a couple and is definitely unique. The logs are nearly 200 years old, are originally from Tennessee, certified and were reassembled here in 1995. I am not sure what the original builders were thinking, but over the years it has turned into an adorable, two apartment home. You will be staying in an attached guest suite, that has its own private everything.

Despite not having central air, the whole house is easy to keep temperate. During the colder months, there is a romantic gas fireplace that just clicks on, to keep you toasty warm. During the summer months, there is a brand new, portable air conditioning/dehumidifier unit. The logs make this place like living inside a Yeti cup. Once they are warmed up or cooled off, they stay that way for hours.

To the chef's away from home, I'm sorry to say the kitchen space does not have a full size oven, but there is a monster toaster oven that can handle just about any meal. There is a combination two-burner stove, mini-fridge and sink unit, that looks just like the one in Cliff Clavin's apartment. I thought it was really funny when I acquired this place and I am happy to say, it all works perfectly. There's also a microwave, coffee pot (with all the fixings), blender, crock pot, outdoor grill and a few necessities such as flour, olive oil and seasonings. Of course, you're on vacation, so there is plenty of refrigerator space for leftovers, instead of cooking.

If you plan on going hiking, there's items like hiking sticks or maps of some of the local forests and waterfalls, you may use during your stay. For rainy days, there are puzzles, cards, games, books, a dartboard, Apple TV and a dvd player, with a Redbox just around the corner.

No matter what the weather, there is a wonderful, covered porch to sit on. There is plenty of trees and shade on this property. The neighbors aren't too close at all and there is a meadow close by, which deer visit from time to time. There's always lots of various birds flying around, from finches to woodpeckers. It's so relaxing and peaceful to just sit and watch the squirrels run around.

Guest access
You will have complete access to a two-story guest suite and are welcome to use anything you find while you are here. There is ample parking, a quiet porch, well-stocked kitchenette, 1.5 sparkling clean baths, oodles of entertainment, you name it! If you need anything or I have forgotten something, please don't hesitate to ask.

Other things to note
It is not uncommon to lose power here in the mountains; happens once or twice a year. These big trees come down and bring power lines with them. I know how hard the power company works to get it back on as quickly as possible, but I would also like you to know that I have a generator on site. I can't predict the weather or the future, but I can prepare and do everything in my power to ensure that you are well provided for, no matter what the circumstances.

Location

Hendersonville, North Carolina, United States

No matter where you drive from, the airport or your home, as you get off the highway, you will notice how beautiful this little city is. There are sidewalks which makes the one mile venture to downtown Hendersonville, very easy & safe to navigate. The individual homes and gorgeous landscaping also make for an enjoyable outing. If you're coming for The Apple Festival or any of the activities this summer, you'll never have to worry about parking here.

I would never want anyone to be disappointed or feel as though they were misled. There is a small church parking lot adjacent to the backyard, but people are hardly ever there and are very quiet when they do come for service.

During your stay
This is your getaway and it's my pleasure to accommodate every reasonable request. If you just get the key and want total privacy, I completely understand and respect that. Even though I am next door, you will be amazed at how private and quiet your place will be.

But because I am next door, have been living in the area for seven years and am also a Lyft/Uber driver, you might want to ask me questions about the area, that a local may have a better answer to than Google. Maybe you want to know some back roads or secrets to avoiding traffic or actually need a ride, I am glad to help you out. If you want to play a game of darts and I'm not working, I could be up for that, too.

Please, do not hesitate to ask anything.
