La Treille Haute is a restored farmhouse and converted original Perigord barn, formerly used by Pilgrims. It has been lovingly converted and restored and is now a 3 b/r holiday home well suited to families, in this very special part of Perigord Noir, in the Dordogne region. The house and barn are set in a small hamlet, high over the Dordogne valley and is absolutely private, peaceful and quiet. It has a beautiful terrace overlooking the valley to the west, perfect for sunsets, drinks and BBQs.

Very beautiful views. A very authentique old house of the dordogne. It felt quite abandoned. I suppose quite a few people could like the charm of the place as also quite a few people could find it difficult to feel comfortable there.

BEWARE of LACK OF DISCLOSURE ON LISTING! My family of 6 booked Jeremy's home as it looked like a stunning location with lots of charm and enough rooms and space for my family of 6. Finding the home was a bit of a travesty as the directions were not very clear and we thought it …

We thoroughly enjoyed our few days in the Dordogne region while staying at Jeremy’s house. The house is full of character and has a great feeling about it. The weather was perfect during our break and we spent the evenings in the garden terrace overlooking the expansive views. We…

Response from Jeremy:
Many thanks Simon. We are very glad you enjoyed your stay and hope you recommend the house to others. Yes - the terrace certainly is very beautiful in the late afternoons / early evenings with the soft light and often with the local hot air balloons passing very low and close.

Response from Jeremy:
Nelly was our first Air BnB and winter guest and had benefited from a large introductory discount. Their stay was over the Christmas to New Year Period. Unfortunately a plumbing valve which is part of the central heating system failed during their stay. This was unforeseeable. We had a plumbing engineer attend immediately (next day). The replacement part was unavailable on the same day due to the New Year period. We supplied additional electric heaters to go with the huge fireplace and the ample stack of dry firewood, as well as the Ray Burn gas range / stove, to make the guests comfortable. The plumbing issue has now been rectified. The house is large and very amply furnished and filled with all a holiday guest could require including the 2 complete separate kitchens. The house is locally and professionally managed and cleaned before and after every holiday letting. The entire house had been cleaned and vacuumed immediately prior to the letting. The linen and much crockery are all new and unused. We did and do send out very accurate directions including links and photos of landmarks and the house’s situation and entrance as well as a very detailed map. Perhaps these were not referred to but we will ensure the directions are very clear for all future guests. It is a very friendly small village – we are very glad the neighbours were able and happy to offer directions. We communicated very well as required with Nelly, who was an excellent and very responsive communicator and who was very helpful and understanding regarding the unfortunate heating issue during a particularly cold snap. We would welcome Nelly and her friends back any time and hope she returns during summer, when the views are even more stunning.

We travel a little as a family. I travel a bit for work. We do like sailing, beaches, dining, the bush, pets and experiencing new places. We enjoy our family home and treat anyone else's home with respect, just as we would expect someone to treat ours.
