(TARIFF ON PUBLIC HOLIDAYS DIFFER. PL ASK.)
(23 Dec 16 to 05 Jan 17 are let out only as a whole villa and min no of nights is 6.)
A charming riverside Portuguese villa (let out wholly and each bedroom independently too) in Aldona restored to perfection with modern fitments and family heirlooms.
The property is lovingly taken care of by caretaker who resides on its premises.
A handful of movie crews have wound their way here for its picturesque beauty!
The Only Olive gets its name from the olive tree in the garden rumored to be a hundred years old - like the house itself - and is said to be the only Olive tree of the particular kind in the whole of Goa!
The property has been lovingly refurbished by the owner and his family and the villa was painstakingly restored to reflect its former colonial glory to perfection all the while retaining its inherent Portuguese influences … shell windows and a shared well included.
Its airy, high-ceilinged living room is tastefully furnished and the large, formal dining table can accommodate a group of 10.
The cool whitewashed interiors give off an aura of peace and serenity – an ideal setting for romance, bonding with friends and family, or a restful holiday.
Some of the photo credits go to Dew who blogs at crystaldewdrops.
The villa is set in canvassed gardens filled with an abundance of sweet scented frangipani and Indian jasmine, interspersed with bamboo, mango, jack fruit, breadfruit, drumstick, cashew trees and of course - the olive tree.
The three bedrooms can be booked independently with the common hall, dining and the kitchen. Feel free to rustle up a meal inspired by the lovely repertoire of birds chirping around you or Santhosh the caretaker would treat you to his superlative culinary skills, be it veg or non veg.
The soft and luscious lawns make it a perfect place for your family to lounge and kids to play around.
The shared well is the only one that gives out sweet water in that area and there have been records of guests indulging in the joy of it like unlimited feni.
For those who love life and nature - it is the perfect place to relax in hammocks and rejuvenate – making the home stay seem like a slice of Portuguese life in Goa.
Interaction with guests
Adrian is driven by his passion in opening out his favourite abode to others. Though he doesn't stay there he visits it every second month. If he's around when you visit you can be rest assured of the company of his endearing personality. Even when he's away he makes sure you're comfortable.
His man Friday Santhosh is an asset on the property and has taken after his master over a period of time. The well being of the guests is his utmost priority and he leaves no stone unturned to meet their reasonable demands.
By and large Adrian leaves a bit of him there every time he crosses the vintage threshold and as you step in there as guests, you leave the place as Adrian's friends.
