Delightful, listed, 250 year old thatch cottage named after the famous explorer Eduardo-Alfred Martel is famous for charting Marble Arch cave system. Local Folklore claims that Martel resided within this beautiful cottage in 1895 during his Caving adventures.
Suitable for walkers, climbers & fishermen.
The cottage is heated by oil and lovely range cooker. With a log burner in the lounge.
Please be aware that the cottage does not have WiFi or terrestrial tv, but has a tv and dvds.

The space
Outdoor enthusiasts, climbers, covers, fishermen.

Guest access
All areas are accessible.

Other things to note
Please be aware that this is a one bedroom cottage. The room consists of one double bed, one single bunk bed situated directly above the double bed and one fold out bed. When this extra fold out bed is extended, it leaves little room for movement. It is recommended that this third bed is accessed last thing prior to going to bed.

No smoking or naked flames in the house or within close proximity of the cottage, this is a thatch cottage and we have to adhere to very strict rules for our insurance.

No Trestrial TV or internet. Large selection of DVDs is available.

Animals are welcome but please let us know. Please ensure animals stay off the furniture and out of the bedroom. Please clean up after your pets, the cottage grounds are not enclosed and there are areas where your pets could escape.

Please be aware, this is our family cottage and additional work is on going to it's adjacent out buildings. Our aim is to restore the thatch outhouse to its original glory. All monies raised from your stay will go towards the running, maintenance, and re-generation of this part of Irish History.

Unfortunately, due to some experience of guests damaging the cottage we have had to ask for a deposit. As you will see from our prices that a stay at the cottage is extremely good value so we hope you appreciate and understand why we ask for this.
