Newly redecorated in cooperation with the Bauhaus Museum in Weimar, this apartment is one of the few opportunities that people staying in Weimar will have to experience how it was to live in the Bauhaus era.

The space

Welcome to the Hiker's Holiday Home!
This apartment is located in the UNESCO World Heritage City and European Cultural Capital Weimar. The apartment is designed to accomodate up to 6 guests, although housing six adults at the same time would require them to be very comfortable with one another. There is one bedroom in the apartment, which sleeps two people in a queen-sized bed. The living room has both a Murphy bed, which sleeps one and a sofa landscape which can sleep up to 3 people. It is recommended that three children/ or two adults and one child sleep on the sofa landscape, when accomodations for six are sought. The kitchen is fully equipped will all necessary appliances for longer stays. It is located directly adjacent to a major hiking path which connects to hiking trails throughout Thuringia. It is also located a 5 minute bus ride from the city center (or a 15 minute hike). The apartment offers a completely equipt kitchen (stove, fridge, microwave, freezer, coffee maker, etc.) as well as a washing machine/dryer for those hiking "accidents". Maps of local hiking trails and informational brochures for points of interest are also available for use. The living room features satellite TV, stereo and dvd player with game port. A shopping center with grocery store is a 3 minute walk away. The bus stop is 1 minute away. We ask smokers to please refrain from smoking in the apartment. There is a two night minimum stay(URL HIDDEN).

Sylvia was out of town, but her caretaker greeted us and let us in at the pre-arranged time. The apartment has bus service at the end of the street and a grocery store within easy walking distance. Parking for two cars was not a problem. The washing machine was great! Access to downtown Weimar was only ten minutes by car.

We enjoyed our stay in the appartment. This was our first experience with airbnb and it was a positive one. Because it was a parterre appartment we expected a private garden and we were a little disappointed that it didn't have one. The neighbours acted as contact persons and they were very friendly and helpful.

Nice and clean apartment, well equipped, located in a quiet urban zone, a bit apart from historical center. Easy and uncomplicated communication with attentive host, to be repeated and recommended.

I didn't get to meet Sylvia personally, but her apartment was excellent. Well equipped, sober, just a few kilometres from down town Weimar and literally next to a beautiful forest. I would certainly stay there again.
