Welcome to one of the most unique accommodations in Detroit, QuonsetHaus. A beautiful, open, airy, new construction Quonset Hut; part of a wonderful new community in Woodbridge/Core City known as True North. Centrally located on Grand River Avenue, it's just a 5 minute drive/bike/Uber to Corktown, Midtown, or Woodbridge. We invite everyone to come and enjoy our home away from home as if it were yours, and experience the magic of Quonset Hut living, right here in Detroit. Relax, you're home.

The space

Welcome to our brand new construction Quonset Hut home located on Detroit's near west-side. Part of an incredible and groundbreaking new development created by Prince Concepts and architect Edwin Chan, called True North Detroit. It's an incredibly open and airy space, with so much room and light at all hours of the day and night. We've picked furnishings that make you feel right at home, and cozy up the industrial finishes to make you settle in, take your shoes off, and enjoy everything Detroit has to offer. Surround yourself with a space that has furniture, decor, and art from Detroit Makers and Artists that rival almost anywhere in the world. Most everything from art prints to the Shinola Turntable to the vintage pieces and magazines are local, and that's just the way we like it. You'll find air conditioning in the summer, and radiant heated concrete floors in the winter to keep things just right. Our home includes a large and extremely well-appointed kitchen, incredibly fast internet with wifi and one bedroom (loft) with a queen-sized bed. Our standalone building (one of 9 on the property) is incredibly peaceful, quiet, and relaxing; while being just minutes away from anything you'd want to do in the city.

Photography, videography, and small events are permitted only with prior consent and special rates. Please submit an inquiry with what you're looking to do!

For additional amenities and programming just feet away from our home, check out our friends at @thecollectiveattruenorth. Yoga classes, workshops, group bike rides, and more all starting just to our left in Hut #3, nearly every day!

Kitchen includes gas stove/oven, stainless steel sink, refrigerator, toaster, pots, pans, coffee maker, and any other utensils you need to call Detroit home for a few days.

You'll find a single bedroom in the sleeping loft. It has a beautifully comfortable queen bed, dresser, and bench, as well as a 46" HDTV w/ Roku (Netflix provided, and other accounts available using your own login). Awesomely comfy white cotton sheets are included in the bedroom. The bathroom includes a large walk-in shower, sink, and any towels and amenities you'll need to make your stay perfect.

Our main living space includes a dining room table with four chairs, as well as a sitting area with a couch and two lounge chairs. Needing to get some work done? We've got a desk for that. Want some tunes? We've gone one of the finest turntables on the market, made right here in Detroit with a selection of our favorite tunes (just be kind to her)!

Slide open the massive french doors to reveal our back patio. The outdoor space includes a large area that will soon contain a farm table under our strung cafe lights. Enjoy our slice of heaven and "backyard" with some drinks and indoor/outdoor living that our Quonset Hut brings to the table.

While the immediate neighborhood doesn't have much in the way of walkable amenities (yet), local spots within a short distance include the incredibly beautiful art-deco Fisher and Albert Kahn buildings; Midtown Shopping (Shinola, Willys, Nora, Hugh, Carhartt, Filson, City Bird, Nest, and more); the mid-century gardens and campus at Wayne State, and more. Grab our favorite local pizza at Pie-Sci, or everything Corktown has to offer less than 5 minutes away (Astro Coffee, Slows, Detroit Institute of Bagels, Gold Cash Gold, etc.) Local attractions include the city and public art, Belle Isle with its beaches, waterpark, Albert Kahn designed conservatory and aquarium, and trails. The world is your oyster. Restaurants nearby including fast food, Northern Lights Lounge, Falafill, Dangerously Delicious Pies, City Wings, Motor City Brewing Works, Jolly Pumpkin, and more.

The hut is all yours while you're here. Enjoy, relax, and hang out. I prefer text and AirBnB message for communication.

I really enjoyed staying in this Quonset Hut! It was such a unique experience. The place was even better than the photos and the place was immaculate. It was a short Uber away from everything I wanted to accomplish and would stay here again!

I am so glad that I stumbled upon and stayed in Jesse's place during my visit to Detroit. The space was unique, extremely clean and very well appointed. The location was also quite convenient. Last, Jesse was extremely communicative, responsive and accommodating.

Very cool, unique space in Detroit. Stayed here for my 30th birthday and loved it. The patio outside was great to have some friends over and provided a nice open air environment inside and out. The interior design is very well done - great vibe. Thanks Jesse!

Absolutely beautiful, just like the photos make it out to be (and maybe even better). Jesse's place is not only beautifully designed, but such a unique space and in a great location to experience some of the best that Detroit has to offer. Jesse is an awesome host - easy to reach and so hospitable. Will absolutely be back!

The Hut(s) was super cool and a very unique experience. Beautifully decorated and comfortable to be in. In the evenings all the other residents in the community come and sit out front of their places, which is nice and you get to meet everyone in this cool community. I would definitely fling open the sliding doors and have a drink out on the patio. We had a friend over, whom lives in Detroit, and did just that. Perfect evening spot to chill and watch the light change at sunset. A car is a must in this neighborhood, but we felt comfortable leaving it on the street. Jesse was a great host and quick to respond to any questions we had. The Huts are definitely a unique experience and would love to stay at them again.

The hut is a fantastic place to stay in; spacious, perfectly styled, light and it has a nice patio in the back! On the property are a total of seven different huts, an interesting community. The place is centrally located in a quite, safe neigbourhood with bars and restaurants as well as downtown Detroit within a short drive (less than 8 min). Perfect for exploring Detroit! Jesse is a great host, easy to communicate with, caring and prompt. I had a great stay and I definitely want to stay here again!
