Portland, Maine, United States

The Arts District is the best place to stay in all of Portland! Walk anywhere on the peninsula or just step out your door and find yourself in the middle of the finest galleries, live music and dining Portland has to offer.
Just a few blocks from the waterfront, this section of Congress Street is lined with art galleries, antique shops, and artist studios as well as the Portland Museum of Art, the Institute of Contemporary Art at MECA, the Center for Cultural Exchange, the State Theater, the Portland Stage Company, the Center for Maine History and more.
Several smaller venues also offer live music in the Arts District. Portland has nearly 400 restaurants. A few worth trying right in the neighborhood include Emiltsa, Nosh, Taco Escobarr, Sur Lie, David's, Empire, and Boda.
