Nestled at the base of Snake Mountain, looking out over a serene Vermont country side, sits this beautiful, historic home. Built in 1835 this house has its original foundation and wood beams with luxurious, modern updates.

This estate is just steps away from popular hiking trails. A ten minute drive will take to you to the heart of historic Middlebury. Ski resorts, lakes, and antique shopping are within forty to sixty minutes.

The space

This is a great place for anyone looking to live like a local while having easy access to all popular skiing, hiking, biking and lake destinations.

Looking for a quiet space to write your next book, album or create your next masterpiece? You are in luck! This space is a perfect retreat for writers, musicians, painters and photographers. A separate studio space is available to let your creativity roam. The studio space includes a futon, sofa and access to a private balcony overlooking the countryside. Amplifiers and other musical equipment are available for an extra rental fee.

Guest access

You and your traveling companions will have access to 12.5 acres of Vermont countryside to explore. The meandering walking paths will lead you to quiet spots to relax and take in the beauty of nature. There is a fire pit, plenty of space for tents and hammocks.

Interaction with guests

While this is our full-time home, we travel a lot. Should the timing of your visit coincide with our being at home you can expect Jeff and I to be available for as much or little interaction to make your stay as comfortable as possible.

Other things to note

We also share this awesome home with our dog, Lennox. He is 9 years old, 35 lb, mixed breed.

- To cut down on cleaning costs we ask that you remove your shoes while indoors. Bring your slippers!
- What is the point of having a house like this if you can't bring all your friends!? We are happy to host your annual "friends getaway" but if you are planning on having more than 4 traveling companions please let us know so that we can plan accordingly.
- If you are looking to host a party or special event please contact me. Having event coordination experience, I am more than help you create a memorable experience for you and your guests. For an additional fee my professional coordinating services are available.
- The Studio is available to rent for serious inquiries only. Due to the fragile and expensive nature of the music and art supplies an additional security deposit is required.
- Make yourself at home! We only ask that you leave the space the way you found it. Beds do not need to be made but take the trash out and run the dishwasher before you head out.
- Check in: 3PM or later
- Check out: 11AM

You must also acknowledge
Must climb stairs - Bedrooms are located on the second floor.
Potential for noise - This is a working property and the projects are endless. The sound of power tools may happen. If you seek an extra quiet visit please let us know.
Pet(s) live on property - Lennox is a 9 year old, 35lb mix. He's great with adults but not so great with kids. He would be primarily with us during your stay.
Some spaces are shared - Should we be in the house at the same time, we will share the bathrooms and kitchen with you. The woodshop is not available for guests.

My family stayed at Ashley & Jeffrey's while visiting our son at Middlebury College. From the bucolic setting, privacy of our rooms, comfort of our beds, and all the many little details and touches like the toiletries and snacks in the bedrooms, to the warm hospitality of Jeff (Ashley was away during our stay and we hope to meet her the next time), this home far exceeded our expectations! We are looking forward to staying here again over the next few years and cannot recommend this Air BnB enough!

Ashley and Jeffrey welcomed us into their home with so much grace. This was a rare trip for my husband and I so we were elated when they surprised us with special treats that showed they had read my profile!! Their home is lovely, the views are to die for, and Ashley and Jeffrey couldn't be more hospitable. Thank you!

My family and I stayed at Ashley and Jeff's beautifully restored farmhouse while we were on vacation and what an amazing time we had! Their charming acreage is set in a pastoral dreamland which we enjoying strolling around. They are great and generous hosts and made us feel immediately welcome. Their dog Lennox is really friendly too! The living space is very cosy and comfortable, ideal for a group and the location in Bridport is close to great swimming holes in the Green Mountains and nice restaurants in Middlebury and Vergennes. We highly recommendation staying here!

The experience that Ashley provided for us was, hands down, the best Airbnb experience I had ever had. She truly went above and beyond what anyone would expect from their host. She was so unbelievably giving that it was truly shocking to my friends and I. We felt as if we hadn't paid her enough upon leaving (how many experiences can you say that about?) The house was spotless, and the overall environment/land the house was situated on nothing short of breathtaking. Her presence, coupled with the house's overall vibe is nothing short of an Airbnb dream come true. Do yourself a favor and book this spot!

Ashley and Jeff were incredible! By far the best hosts of our AirBNB career adventures! Ashley welcomed my mom, who arrived early, with a glass of wine and and some good conversation. The only thing more incredible than the house/property was Ashley's warm peronality and loveable pooch Lennox! Anyone looking to visit Middlbeury College for parents/alumni weekends or just looking to dive into the tranquility of Vermont would be blown away by this place! The views, the fire pit, the hospitality are as good as it gets. I can confidently say we can't wait to stay with Ashley and Jeff again!

Ashley & Jeff are the definition of airbnb hospitality! We were a group of 4 already looking forward to our stay because of the amazing location and setting, but the warmth they showed us made us feel at home from the moment we walked in! Make sure to try Ashley's oatmeal with pecans/raisins/maple syrup and the western omelette for breakfast, they are beyond heavenly! Our favorite part of the 2-night stay here was the fire-pit. It is tucked away far enough from the house to make you believe you are in the middle of nowhere, but close enough to load up on graham crackers for the Smores (which they also provided)! On a clear night, star gazing here would be unbelievable! This is a perfect stay for anyone looking to get away from the city and experience the serenity that Ashley & Jeff's place has to offer. Lennox (their 9-yr old dog) was a delightful host as well and didn't mind the attention we gave him for the duration of our trip! We've already made up our mind to visit again within the year- thank you guys for being amazing hosts!

Life is all about learning, growing, seeing and doing. In May of this year (2017) my partner, Jeffrey, and I took a huge leap and took over this Vermont estate without ever having been to Vermont! Some call a move like this crazy. I call it living adventurously and I'm so excited…
