A warm welcome from the picturesque and historic Barossa! Whether you are coming for business or play, the Barossa is an international attraction for the wineries and Germanic culture with plenty to do and see. There is a huge selection of local wineries and restaurants as well as glorious country sides of vineyards. The house is located near major arterial roads for easy access but is in a quiet cul-de-sac with quiet neighbours – no city noise! Looking forward to making your stay comfortable.
You have a clean and tidy bedroom that has a comfortable modern queen bed, wardrobe, drawers, hanging space, bedside table and your own air-conditioning. You will have a key to lock your bedroom. It also includes a shared lounge, shared dining, and shared kitchen area. The bathroom is for guest use only and has a large vanity space, separate shower recess and separate toilet. The bathroom may be shared with other guests if other rooms are booked. The hairdryer/iron/toiletries in the bathroom and shower area are available for use while you are staying in the home.
You are also welcome to sit outside in the undercover area.
• key for your room is available by lockbox – check in when it suits you
• parking available on the front gravel area
• WIFI / Netflix / TV / DVDs in the shared lounge space
• Light breakfast available – fruit and cereal (gluten free option available)
• tea / coffee / hot chocolate / water are available in the kitchen along with access to the kettle, microwave, sandwich press and toaster. I would be grateful if food is consumed in the dining area and not the bedroom. Please tidy after yourself by washing dishes or stacking cups etc. next to the kitchen sink.
Interaction with guests
I live in the front part of the house and work full time, so I may not be home very often or may not be available to greet you on arrival. Otherwise, key access is by a lock box so your arrival time is flexible. Your access code will be emailed to you.
I am happy to help answer questions and will do my best to ensure you have a comfortable stay. Either way I am happy to interact as much or little as you choose. I do have 2 indoor cats that will be kept in the front area while I am not home. Again, you can choose if you would like to interact with them when I am home, otherwise I will keep them away from the shared area.
Other things to note
WIFI details are listed in your welcome letter.
Tourist brochures are available.
Small library of books are available if you wish to read.
Winter can get very cold with some frosty mornings. Extra blankets are available. Similarly summer can be hot but dry. There is a ceiling fan in your room. Your room has split system air conditioning for heating and cooling to your liking.
A quaint country town, with no city noise means that your stay will be relaxing and restful. Nuriootpa is surrounded by vineyards and farms. At any time of the year there is a lot of green vegetation.
Being part of the Barossa Valley means there are a number of small towns all with their own charm and interests.
Nuriootpa is known as the business end of the Barossa and the main shopping mall is currently under construction to include more services. We have Foodland and Foodworks available for all your grocery needs as well as Mitre 10, clothing, sports and homeware shops. A number of cafes are located throughout the Barossa towns. We have two 24 hour food options with Hungry Jacks or the Big Grill located at Caltex on the highway. Every town has a local pub which will serve great meals. The Vine Inn is a popular spot being open from 7 a.m. for breakfast to 10 p.m. with a bistro or sports bar. There are also high end dining experiences that will tantalise you with their local produce and amazing cooking skills. Churches are also a common sight. Finally, not forgetting the many wineries whether it is a boutique family winery or international winery.

I love my job as a teacher in a local primary school. I am a keen photographer of all things beautiful and often carry my camera wherever I go. I am a Christian and am involved with a local church and love helping others. I have stayed at a few places using Airbnb and was impressed enough to consider hosting others. I have been local for 5 years but have a long family history in the area.
