Greg was quick to respond when contacted. However when concerns were raised, such as roaches in the kitchen and the cigarette smoke aroma throughout the apartment, there were no attempts to remedy the issues (a picture and texts were sent to Greg). Greg did respond that he had t…

Response from Greg:
Thanks Ursula for your comments and let's set the record straight. You saw one roach and took a picture of it and I suggested you look at the glue strip which had been placed behind the refrigerator several weeks before to see if it had caught any and the strip was clean so there was no infestation just one bug. I did not suggest that the roaches were from garbage in the alley, I said someone had stayed there for several weeks and perhaps did not take their trash out on a regular basis and I recommended that you make sure to take your garbage out so not to attract them. You did alert me that you smelled smoke coming from another apartment and I appreciate that because I was not aware that any of my tenants were smoking in the building. You were also advised to open windows since it had gotten warmer. Since then I have notified all tenants and we have agreed to go smoke free in the entire building. I really don't understand what you mean by "how vintage the apartment appeared in person?" Floors were sanded and refinished a year ago and instead of replacing cabinets and bathroom fixtures with new stuff we decided to keep the older "better made" fixtures and play off the 1940 building with vintage Route 66 memorabilia and furnishings. Not sure what your getting at regarding the door opening instructions. I just want guests to know who are used to opening newer hollow doors that this is a solid wood door and takes a tiny bit more effort. I really take issue with the fact that you are calling my neighborhood seedy or sketchy without any evidence to prove that. It is described as up and coming and we are proud that it not only serves low income but folks of numerous nationality's and races. I feel it's important to advise you that Airbnb has a non discrimination policy and that includes Airbnb guest. I can actually provide evidence that my neighborhood is in fact safe as my long term tenants report and that those neighborhoods that you might think look better like downtown Saint Louis and the Central West End actually have a bigger crime problem than my neighborhood in South Saint Louis.
