This is a beautiful part of the world and I would love to share it with you. We have so many activities to offer, mountains to climb, hills to walk, kayaking, golf, fishing, whisky distilleries, theater in the hills, castles and a fascinating and exciting history. This is Nature's Number One Health Retreat. You will have your mind, body and soul brought back into balance and leave feeling invigorated and rejuvenated. Autumn is approaching and autumn in this area is wonderful. Bring your camera.

The space

There are two rooms, one a double room and one a twin-bedded room. Both can be booked for a party of more than 2 people. They are registered under two separate listings. This listing is for a win-bedded room. The patio has a beautiful outlook over the Strath of Appin to the hills surrounding Loch Tay.

Guest access

Breakfast of cereals and toast, tea and coffee with home-made jams and marmalade will be available to enjoy either in the kitchen or out on the patio. Guests are welcome to bring disposable BBQs and cook their evening meal on the patio if the weather permits.

Interaction with guests

I am a local historian and have written three Guide books of the history of the area in the form of a day's drive with stories of the places you pass on the way. You can get out and look at the places, picnic by the rivers and lochs and just enjoy the beauty of the area. I would be happy to act as guide to guests by arrangement. On wet days I will be happy to make suggestions of how to fill your time. Scotland is like a stone on the loch shore. It only shows its true colours once it has been washed by the rain.

Other things to note

This area is the jewel in the crown that is Scotland. It has everything, mountains to climb, hills to walk on, moors to feed your soul, rivers to kayak and canoe in and paths to walk along their banks, lochs to sail on in our beautiful fresh, clean air. Golf, fishing, cycling, walking, this area has something for everyone. It is Nature's Number One Health Retreat. It will feed your mind, body and soul. It will restore your mind with the amazing stories of its history, invigorate your body with the myriad of outdoor activities in our beautiful clean fresh air and restore your soul as you take in the wonder of the colours and beauty around you. Your mind, body and soul will be brought back into balance and you will be invigorated and rejuvenated.

The perfect location to take in the beauty of Loch Tay! Very close to Aberfeldy and Kenmore, and a lovely drive to Pitlochry.

Response from Hilary:
Sorry about the flies. They are part of the country and livestock. They are quite harmless. I could spray them - but since I have been to Bhutan...........................

If you want to be in the countryside, this is the place to be. A small hamlet with an outstanding view; a perfect base for hiking and biking. The room is basic, but has a beautiful view. The hostess is a lady with a lot of knowledge about the history of the area and us most willing to help in any way. We were on public transport and she fetched us from the trainstation. Also she gave good suggestions for hiking and strolling through the area. Nearby Aberfeldy has the Dewar's distillery to visit and some nice restaurants. We recommend the Italian KB's. In one hour one can walk from Aberfeldy to the cottage along the riverbank; beautiful stroll. Hilary, thanks for everything!
