Set in beautiful Brittany countryside, our lovely stone gite can sleep up to 4 adults. Only 3 minutes drive from the nearest village, with 2 bars, a supermarket, baker, butcher and micro-brewery, yet rural enough for peace, tranquility and wildlife, with views of fields and woodlands.
Close to Malestroit, La Gacilly and Rochefort-en-Terre, and only 45 minutes from the sea!
A perfect couples retreat, but also ideal for groups of friends and small families (cot, highchair & stairgate available).

The space
Le Grenier is a bright and spacious 2 bedroom traditional Breton stone cottage, located at the end of our longere, with a stylish, comfortable interior. The cottage overlooks a sunny and charming 18th century stone porcherie and original bread oven to the front, and has a private, enclosed garden to the rear, with its own barbecue and outdoor seating. Situated at the heart of our 7 acres of wildflower meadows, fields and woodland, it enjoys views of beautiful countryside with abundant wildlife, yet is only three minutes drive from the nearest village.
The cottage can sleep 4, and has an airy open-plan kitchen, dining room and lounge on the ground floor, with a wood-burning stove for those chillier evenings; upstairs a romantic double room with Juliet balcony, a generous twin-bedded room, and a family shower room.
Our private garden has a terraced area for dining, with BBQ, table, chairs and parasol, plus access to our surrounding fields and woodland. There is also a washing line.
For the children, there is a small outdoor play area, with swings, climbing area, and a slide, plus we have plenty of outdoor games, like boules, palets, swingball, football, frisbees, etc that you are welcome to use. The children also enjoy exploring our woodland walk.
Please note: there are 4 friendly cats that live at Gayon with us. However they are not allowed in the gite, and we ask guests do not encourage them inside as following guests may be allergic to cat hair.

If you need to hire a car, we can get you up to 10% discount with Rhino car hire. Ask for our direct link when booking.

Where you’ll be

Ruffiac, Bretagne, France

If you are looking for peace and quiet, look no further! We are nestled in the countryside, with very little passing traffic, and just the sounds of the birds singing. However, we are still well situated for seeing so much of beautiful Brittany: 10 minutes from picturesque medieval Malestroit and La Gacilly, yet still close to Josselin, Rochefort-en-Terre and the wonderful coastline of the Gulf of Morbihan. With the Nantes-Brest canal for cyclists, sailors and walkers only a 20 minute bike ride away, and the Voie Verte and cycle friendly roads, there are some wonderful routes to explore.
Whether you are looking for a romantic getaway, somewhere to discover new exciting adventures (on land, sea or air), somewhere to relax and get away from it all, a cultural and historical trip, or just a base for cycling or hiking, then look no further. We are centrally based, surrounded by many wonderful towns and cities, theme parks, inland lakes, forests and standing stones, and yet only 45 minutes from the sea. With its own microclimate, Morbihan (meaning ‘little sea’ in Breton) regularly enjoys a warmer and drier climate than the rest of Brittany.

We both originally came from England, but moved to France a few years ago. We are now living in beautiful Brittany, where we rent out our rural gites to people wishing to discover the magical area of Morbihan.
