This is the newest room in my house available for guests. Once used as my husband's den and collection space. There are still a few wooden tools left and you will find various books on tools, woodworking, antiques and the town's history. Please feel free to look at them.
This is a small, cozy room and has cable TV. The private bathroom is one door away.
Since it is at the rear of the house it has a separate outside entrance right near the room.

The space

I am convenient to Main Street, only three blocks away. A nice walk to see the town or to check out restaurants for dinner. It is a quiet and peaceful neighborhood, with deer wandering through now and then.
I am also three blocks from the Ferndale Cemetery, which is one of the favorite places to visit. It dates back to 1868, and is still in use.

Guest access

You are welcome to enter through the front door, but can also access this part of the house through the gate into the back yard. There is an entrance right near this room at the rear of the house. Parking is also available near the gate.

Interaction with guests

I live on the premises, so I will be there to welcome my guests. I will be available to interact with them and share my knowledge of the history of our town
I love to visit with my guests, to learn about their hometown as well as hearing of their travels. Each of my guests are important and will be treated like family.

Other things to note

I have another guest room that is available to my visitors. There may be times when both of them are occupied, and you will be sharing breakfast with the other guests.
There are only a couple places to eat on Monday & Tuesday nights, so if you're booking for early in the week I suggest you eat before coming to Ferndale.

Bacca's Den is within a short walking distance to downtown Ferndale. Eunice is an amazing hostess! She is warm, cheerful, helpful and provides a lovely breakfast. Our room was comfortable and cozy, close to the spacious bathroom. Free WiFi and a TV are included. Without a doubt this will be our future accommodations when visiting Ferndale.

I arrived in Ferndale for a work event, but was struck with perhaps the worst case of sciatic nerve pain I've ever had. I tried to power through it, but realized the only way it was going to get better was if I lay down and rest. Here I was, in the home of a "stranger", laid up in bed! Eunice was so kind- it was like being at a family member's home. Her home is lovely, neat and clean, and very comfortable. She serves a beautiful breakfast every morning, and is a great conversationalist. Having lived in Ferndale for most of her life, she is a part of the fabric of the community and is happy to share stories. I recommend her place highly. No matter what your situation, she'll make you feel right at home.

Response from Eunice:
Thanks Jennifer. I'm so sorry you suffered so with sciatica, but relieved when you started to feel better. It was a pleasure to have you, and I look forward to your next trip to Humboldt County.

Eunice is an excellent host! We had great conversations together. The house is quiet, clean, and has a nice garden. The room was perfect and cozy. Breakfast was deliciously prepared, it was like to be at home, actually, even better! I was there with my boyfriend Tobi and we enjoy our stay. We definitely recommend it!
