Great location. Very nice area and right next to the subway (or train station) to get to the main attractions. Comfortable bed. Hosts were extremely nice and welcoming! There is a very inexpensive breakfast place right around the corner open 24/7, as well as Mcdonalds, Starbucks & a cute pub. Also an extremely good cupcake place a minute walking away! Would definitely stay here again.

Eddie and Wendy were excellent hosts! The place is in a safe area and very quiet. Many pubs, restaurants and businesses in the area including Rite Aid, 24 hour supermarkets, McDonalds and more. Commute was easy with the A train station literally a minute away. The room itself was nice, with a comfortable bed and the AC worked really well. I must say my stay was very comfortable and relaxed and the home was certainly welcoming. Wendy and Eddie were very gracious, polite and offered many tips on getting around and places to go. I even had the honour of having Wendy take me on a tour of High Line Park in Chelsea and to the Marina close by. I was also nice that Wendy waited up for me for my 1 AM trip from the airport, still wearing a smile at that ungodly hour and stayed up with me until my 3AM departure, and again, was more than happy to do so. It was a wonderful stay and I didn't want to leave! Will definitely stay again. Thanks Eddie and Wendy!

Overall, he was a really nice host and the apartment was pretty nice. Things that might bother someone: -Don't plan on finding free parking. You will definitely be disappointed. -The bedroom connects to the kitchen with only a curtain separating the two. -The shower spout sprays water in a stream that's perpendicular to the tub that you're standing in. With those caveats, I'd recommend the place. It's cheap, convenient, and clean.

Response from Eddie:
Brandon and his wife had the whole apartment to themselves, they left the apartment in great shape. As stated, we do not offer parking and you'll never find free parking in Manhattan. Also, Check-in is at 3pm I left school early to accommodate Brandon who said he would arrive around 1 and didn't arrive until much later. Did not get to meet Brandon, but he was very respectful of our home.

This place is on point, especially for the price and the location. It's cozy, safe, clean, and about a two minute walk from the A line. Eddie was kind and friendly and wonderful, and he was a delight to talk to. The room doesn't have a door (shades that can be pulled), but the air conditioning is divine. What was most awesome about staying here was that this was New York--we could have shelled out three times as much and stayed in a mediocre hotel near Times Square. But this was the actual vibe and people of non-touristy New York. Overall, excellent, and I would stay here again in a heartbeat.

The aparment building is located in a predominantly Latin-American neighbourhood (it used to be Irish a long time ago) right across the Tryon park and a several-minute walk from Dyckman Street subway station. The area is quite safe and locals are very friendly. There are plenty of grocery stores, cafes etc. The aprtment itself is kind of nice, although I would rather call my room semi-private since it is separated from the kitchen just by some decorative screens. At the same time, the hosts were more than nice, so I never felt that my privacy was somehow violated.
