My house is a 13 century stone house in the medieval village of St. Gengoux-le-National. It is a four storey house with 4 bedrooms, two bathrooms and two kitchens. Guests will have access to a kitchen/living area, and a bathroom that are separate from my own facilities. The decor is in keeping with a traditional village home.
St. Gengoux is a charming village surrounded by wonderfull countryside - supermarket, post office, bakery, café/restaurant, pharmacy, doctors and other facilities.

The space

My house is ideally situated for walkers, lovers of good food and wine and people who appreciate historical buildings. I speak French and English.

Guest access

Guests are welcome to share my small terrace.

Interaction with guests

As I have my own facilities, guests will be fully independant but I will be available for any questions or help needed.

Other things to note

There is a washing machine on the premises if needed.

A quiet, spacious double room on the third floor of a beautiful historic home. It couldn't have been more ideal for our stay. Clean, comfortable and convenient with use of a kitchen/lounge and bathroom dedicated to guests, it really feels much more akin to an 'entire place' than a private room. Phil was incredibly welcoming, making us a cup of tea and going through the basics on our arrival. If we needed anything communication was quick and easy, Phil was always happy to help with her extensive knowledge of the area. Speaking both fluent French and English, Phil's is the ideal place for anyone who is traveling or hasn't quite picked up french yet. Parking is easy and plentiful, with a bus service between Macon and Chalon-sur-Saône. Saint-Gengoux is a scenic, historic village which anyone would struggle not to fall in love with. Excellent value for money, excellent accommodation, excellent host; if anything underpriced. ★ ★ ★ ★ ★
