Quiet, comfortable private lodging on our small farm and vineyard with beautiful views one mile above the town of Paonia on the western slope of the Rockies. Bright basement suite in remodeled 1929 farmhouse. Enjoy this little "Eden" of fruit and nut trees, gardens, and beds of flowers surrounded by pasture and grape vines with beautiful views of the North Fork Valley and the West Elk Mountains.

The space

Clean, naturally cool basement accommodation with above ground windows that provide natural lighting and great fresh air, especially with the morning northeast winds.

It is a basement in an older farmhouse, so steps are involved.

Enjoy a complimentary bottle of the host's local Pinot Grigio wine. It's really pretty decent!

Guest access

Feel free to roam the property and enjoy the views, including use of a deck overlooking the pasture, valley, and Mt Lamborn, Land's End, The Raggeds, and Gunnison Mountain. Outdoor covered patio also available if hosts aren't entertaining.

Interaction with guests

Continental breakfast is included. Fresh fruit and berries from the farm in season.

Wonderful little Farmette nestled in Paonia at the base of the mountain range. Brian and Cyndi were wonderful, they kindly accommodated my early check-in request and even gave me fresh berries from their beautiful garden! The basement was clean, comfortable, and exactly what I expected from the photos. The grounds of the Farmette as well as the deck on the side of the garage were open to me for exploration and relaxation. I would HIGHLY suggest enjoying your morning coffee in one of the Adirondack chairs, the view of the mountains is beyond gorgeous. This was my first time visiting the western slope of Colorado and the Endless Endeavor Farmette was the perfect way to do it!

If you are looking for a country/farm/winery style feeling to get away from the city, this is the place you are looking for. The space is private with lots of room to relax on a couch or sit at a table. The property sits on a hill that overlooks the valley surrounded by mountains! It's a mile from town with plenty of winery's to sample from. There's no TV to distract you from the lush country side offering fruit & vegetable stands and orchards aplenty. There are eatery's in town offering farm to table foods to please your palate. The hiking at Black canyon nearby offered wonderful views! Overall, a pleasant experience!

We enjoyed our stay at Brian and Cyndi's farmhouse. They are very nice hosts, check-in was a breeze, and the extra touches like an included breakfast were appreciated. The basement is a cozy and comfortable guest suite with everything you might need, including refrigerator, small dining space, sitting room, bedroom, and private bathroom. You will hear floor creaks and water running from other parts of the house, as expected in an older farmhouse, so come prepared with earplugs. Otherwise, we had a restful night. All of the farm goodies shared with us were delicious, including their own wine, zucchini muffins, and some of the best grapes I've ever had. Highly recommend a stay here!

This is such a beautiful, relaxing place to stay. I could not rate a place higher. Excellent, kind hosts. Cozy, clean bedroom on lower level, with a beautiful quilt, private bath, and a nice room for reading. Breakfast was delicious. Beautiful farm with a vineyard, a barn with chickens, and chairs to sit in while viewing the mountains. Highly recommend.

If you seek the peace and quiet of the North Fork Valley within the embrace of sky and mountains, this "farmette" and its hosts Brian and Cynthia can provide you a sense of calm and comfort in a rural setting. We particularly enjoyed sitting in Adirondack chairs on a little viewing platform they have built which gives you a panorama of valley sunrises and sunsets. Good hosts, good simple breakfasts and a quality "off the beaten path" experience; yet only minutes to events and services in Paonia.

Bryan and Cyndi were great hosts during our getaway to Paonia for the West Elks Wine Trail weekend. Their space is in the basement of their 1929 farmhouse and is simple, but clean and comfortable. Cyndi's beautiful quilts decorate the space nicely, and there is a living space, an eating space with a refrigerator, table, and sink, a bedroom, and a bathroom. The real attraction to their place is their property -- it is beautiful. It is really a small farm, with numerous fruit and nut trees, a nice vegetable/berry garden, and a relatively new vineyard. There is even an old barn and a handful of chickens. We truly enjoyed walking the lot with Bryan while he did his chores and chatting with Cyndi about life in Paonia and what brought them there. The only downside, and it was minor, was that the bedroom was below the kitchen, and when Cyndi got up to start breakfast the floor creaked with every step. Again, this was a minor thing and was to be expected in a home this age. All in all, we would definitely stay here again when we visit again.

Brian User ProfileBrian is a superhost.
Retired Navy submarine officer, Brian and his wife Cyndi are now maintaining a small fruit and vegetable farm and starting a vineyard in the North Fork of the Gunnison River valley. Cyndi's a passionate gardener and Brian's sticking his toes in the local wine scene.
