This apartment is situated behind and attached to a large Georgian house in its own magnificent grounds within a buzzy village. The apartment is modern and compact. It runs over two levels. Downstairs is the private garden and kitchen and upstairs is a lovely bright sitting room, bedroom and bathroom. It has great light, has been newly installed and decorated. It's on two immediate bus routes to Dublin and within a short drive to Glendalough & Powerscourt. Across the road is Fishers (like Avoca)

The space

The Apartment is at the back of a manor house. It has its own courtyard within a courtyard so is really private. The planting around is great, big trees, nature all about but in the middle of a busy village up the road from Glendalough, the Wicklow Way, Avoca, Powerscourt etc. it's parallel to a fab lifestyle store with a good cafe and lots of joules and Jack Murphy & Olsen clothes. The mini-demesne is on a quiet road with a coillte walk at one end and a village at the other. It's not in Dublin but not rural.

Guest access

Guests can access the main garden if they wish on foot and can use driveway, walled rose garden is private to the main house

Interaction with guests

Guests will find themselves quite at peace in the apartment, however the host is available for a chat or suggestions on where is good to go should that be something they want

Other things to note

The apartment is clean, fresh, new listing so everything is brand spanking new. It's in the centre of a busy village but out in the country enough to get away from it all. Dog is friendly, ducks are greedy, it's a big wooded area with a high wall around it. There is another air B and B rental beside the apartment but the vibe is relaxed and friendly but respectful of others privacy. Please note there is a water pump in the property kitchen which has fills up when a tap is run.

Unfortunately Alison had got our dates mixed up so wasn't expecting us until the following day. This meant that we arrived to an uncleaned apartment. Standard of the apartment was not as seen in photos, poorly finished decor throughout. Great location and easily accessible.

Allison went out of her way to meet my particular accommodation requirements. A minor mix-up over my arrival time was quickly resolved and the unexpected deliveries of dinner on more than one occasion came as an added bonus.

The property is about about a 5mins walk from the village which has a few pubs and a hotel which has a nice, reasonably priced restaurant. Alison was a great host and her whole property is amazing. We were a couple but if you had kids, there is plenty of secure garden for them to run around, there is a bit of a playground and there is a few geese running around. We stayed in the pink house which was perfect. It was clean and had all mod-cons. Would totally recommend a stay here.

Excellent hosts! Directions there and instructions for arrival were spot on. The house was perfect with everything that we might have needed. We definitely would stay again. Thier dog, Rover was also a nice addition :-)

We stayed at the apartment for 5 nights and had a fantastic time. It really did feel like home from home; it is extremely comfortable, stylish, and has everything you need. Lots of space! Allison is a super host and welcomed us very warmly, picked us some lovely flowers and had basic provisions waiting for us too. Her home and family are delightful. In terms of the location, it is ideal for exploring lovely county Wicklow, and is close to Dublin too. The village itself has an excellent big Dunnes Stores supermarket, a lovely cafe just across the road from Allison's place, and several pubs. We hope we can stay again. Thanks Allison!

Allison's apartment was far better than I expected. Though only a few rooms, it was spacious and generous with light. One never felt cramped and everything worked correctly. The bed was comfortable and firm and the view from the bedroom was interesting , a cross-section of the Wicklow landscape out towards the sea. The garden and lawn with trees was in keeping historically and atmospherically with its !8th century ancestry. Altogether this place provides an unique experience.

From the moment you cross through the gates and are greeted by the grounds-hound Rover with a friendly tail-wag, to the journey up the fabulously longer-than-usual driveway through the property, you instantly know you've found yourself a hidden gem. Allison + Co were wonderful to communicate with (a friendly and kind bunch!), and gave us a gorgeous mini-home for the weekend in Wicklow. I would definitely recommend this property for anyone looking to explore Wicklow/Dublin - a convenient location to retreat to after days of adventure. Would return in a heartbeat!

We live in a stunning Georgian house near Coillte HQ. We have 2.5 acres of manicured parkland. We welcome kids as we have three and we have an amazing playground with sunken pirate ship and swings and slides and wendy houses. We have a happy lab called Rover. We are completely walled in so no kids can get out onto the road, we are in the village but completely shut off from it via a large high wall.

We like family and honesty and creativity and peace. We like travelling to Asia or France when we can. We like the Shawshank Redemption, Nursery Food, Coldplay, (I've a secret love of all things 80's!), Our family motto is: Family First then Education and you work the rest out as you go. (Long Motto!!).

We know all the best walks around Wicklow and know good shops and food places and cafes. We are right behind FISHERS lifestyle store.
