Quiet, newly constructed cabin located on the NE side of Summer Lake. 15 min drive to Ana Reservoir. Its an easy drive to the Fremont National Forest, Diablo Mountain, and Paisley. It's all propane lighting, heat, and hot water. Surrounded by BLM. It's a quiet getaway with room to relax.

The space

Desert oasis with lots of local wildlife

Interaction with guests

Call or text me anytime at (PHONE NUMBER HIDDEN) It is all propane so bring a flashlight or any other items you might need like it's a camping trip. There are instructions on how to turn on the propane and how to light the lights.

Other things to note

There are two Twin beds, and two cots in the loft. There is a couch, and fold up bed in the downstairs and a few camping chairs. You might consider bringing an additional cot or inflatable mattress. Bring your own sleeping bags and pillows like you were camping. There are a few various pots and pans to cook on. Some basic necessities are available at the house, such as paper plates, plastic cups, trash bags, towels, and a few basic toiletries in case anybody forgets theirs. Be prepared, because there is only one store (Summer Lake Store) and it provides minimal necessities. A flashlight would be a good idea. Bring bug spray! I have left a small generator in case of emergency to be used. Pets are welcome, but please make sure that any dogs do not chase or bother the nearby cattle.

The cabin is on a 160 acre square that is part of a working cattle ranch. The entry gate needs to be closed at all times, so the cattle don't escape. If you are in the area and find a closed gate on the BLM make sure to close it behind you. The surrounding property has range cattle grazing. Be aware there are cattle on the property, and don't let your pets chase them. Please clean the cabin up before leaving. During high fire danger months June, July, August, September be careful using the fire pit. Campfires are regulated by the Oregon Department of Forestry. Check their website, and don't have fires during red flag warnings, or closures.

Amazing space, beautiful location, wonderful stars. Milky Way for days, complete quiet. Warm and cozy. What more do you need?

Very secluded, quiet and relaxing. Great for our purpose. Loved the remoteness of the location. Kevin is a terrific host. Very quick responses. Looking forward to next time.

The cabin and location (mountains on both sides!) are absolutely fantastic, this spot is truly a gem. The cabin porch and outdoor fire pit offer great places to sit and take in the scenery. Being that the house runs on propane, visitors should feel comfortable working with such appliances (propane heating, lighting, etc.). Unfortunately during our stay, the heat wasn't working and we couldn't get the pilot light to stay lit. Kevin was out of the country but made himself available over the phone to help troubleshoot. We ended up spending the night without heat in November, but Kevin was happy to work with us to come to a solution.

Beautiful, peaceful, serene. Good hiking just up RT 31, decent coffee south in Paisley. Sunsets, campfire and stars!

It is a well built, clean cabin in a secluded area. If quiet and peaceful are what you are looking for then this is your place!

Kevin probably under sells just how beautiful this place is. Views of the sunset/ sunrise are gorgeous. The cabin is very clean and user friendly. The beds/cots were surprisingly comfy too. Check-in/out was a breeze with the lockpad system and we liked The total feeling of privacy. The place is gorgeous and our 2 toddlers loved running wild thru the sage. The creek passing thru was stunning. Thank you!!!

The cabin is exactly as described. Secluded, quiet! and in the middle of the open range. Perfect for my needs. I'd make sure you arrived in daylight the first time. Long stretch of bumpy dirt road after the gravel one. It's a perfect retreat!
