Alex and Natasha's place in Petaluma is absolutely awesome. We stayed with a group of 4 and all slept comfortably between the 3 beds in the loft and day bed downstairs (there's also a trundle we didn't need). The hosts' hospitality is unmatched. Alex showed us around their proper…

Response from Alex And Natasha:
We wanted to respond to Isaas's review point by point. Please read the other reviews, nothing has changed prior to Isaac's visit. We really are a bit perplexed by Isaac's statements. We do require that all of our guests sign a release of liability which is VERY CLEARLY stated in the description of our property. It is a standard form that you would sign if you were staying in a hotel. It is not uncommon for hosts to have this requirement. If you are not comfortable with this, you have the option to not book with us. The first sentence in our property description states the following: "Please read the property description attentively prior to booking so that you know exactly what to expect". We state that the space in not suitable for children under 12 because of the steep stairs to the loft and safety is out number one priority when it comes to being responsible hosts. We have made exceptions for younger children after communicating with our guests. Again, the stairs and the low headroom in the loft are VERY CLEARLY described in our property description and mentioned several times with pictures showing the space. If an someone feels uncomfortable with the stairs (I refrain form referring to age because I know folks in their 70's that run marathons), we provide a daybed with a pull out trundle on the ground level which converts into a king size bed. The mattresses are memory foam and very comfortable. In terms of "rules", we ask that our guests do not wear their outdoor shoes indoors. We would like to keep the space and the rest of our home clean and sanitary for the benefit of out future guests as well as ourselves. We even provide disposable slippers to all of our guests. We do not feel that it is a big imposition or a difficult request for our guests to remove their shoes prior to entering the space. We also provide both indoor and outdoor shoe storage. We are not sure what other "rules" Isaac is referring to. When Isaac and Briana arrived, we felt very comfortable with both of them. We both feel very comfortable with all of our guests and we try to make everyone feel at home when they arrive. We provide filtered water, snacks, a good breakfast with plenty to choose from. It is completely false that we felt uncomfortable with Isaac and Briana. But we respect our guest's privacy and will respond immediately to any and all requests. We even installed a way for our guests to immediately get in touch with us during the night is there is a request or problem. We are sorry that Isaac felt that he was not staying in a home. He in fact was staying in a home, our home, and we offered to help in any way that we could to make them comfortable and feel at home. If there was something lacking, it was because we were not asked. If there was something else that we could have provided or done to make their stay more comfortable, we would liked to know what that would be. We are always available by phone, text, email or a knock on the door. By the way Isaac, Airbnb IS A BUSINESS. We do label things in the space so that it will be clear to out guests where things are stores and where the light switches are, etc. We are not sure how this can be offensive to anyone. If Isaac and Briana wound rather have stayed at a hotel, there is a Sheraton not to far away where we are sure they could have booked a tiny room for four times the cost of staying with us and would not have access to the garden, sundeck, fountains, and dining areas or have been provided the breakfast.

This place was a perfect, cozy retreat for two people. It felt like a lot of thought and care were put into all of the amenities (there was even a tray of ice cubes with lemon peel!).
