The Bedroll Bunkhouse Ranch is nestled in on 30 acres of beautiful landscape. Very private setting. Come out with friends and family and enjoy our horse shoe pit, star gazzing, listen to the coyotes sing, or just sit and read a book.

The space

Our bunkhouse sits in the middle of 30 acres. The 40 foot front porch has rocking chairs and a wicker couch for your enjoyment. The ten acre pasture up front has plenty of room for any kind of ball activities or maybe some kite flying or Frisbee throwing. There is a small arena for your horses also if you need to work on some training of your equine.
In the back 20 there are some hiking trails with sitting areas to sit and watch nature go by.
In the evening there is a back deck that allows you to hear the coyotes sing and watch the beautiful sunsets. And then out come the fireflies flying around through the trees. The evenings are just beautiful here.

Guest access

There are plenty of fun things to do . We have a horse shoe pit, walking trails, star gazing, plenty of birds for those bird watchers, quiet places to sit and read a good book, fly kites in a ten acre field, bring your own boat and go boating in one of the near by lakes, canoe down the Brazos River, go antique shopping in our town of Breckenridge or nearby towns, or even bring your horse and ride around the ranch or nearby parks. There is plenty to do with your family and friends.

We were pleasantly surprised to find a b&b that was open to accommodate an infant, a child and two furry friends! The home was beautiful, comfortable as was the setting which was so peaceful!

Janice's house offers the perfect getaway location for anyone wanting to relax in a rural Texas setting. This is a large and comfortably-appointed residence, with a decor that evokes the long history of Texas ranching. Both deer and roadrunners could be viewed from the porches (one faces south, and a second faces west). This is an ideal location for the exploration of the small towns in this area of Texas--in Albany there is a wonderful art museum and a beautifully restored, old courthouse. There are also restored courthouses from the late 1800s in other area towns. For history buffs, Fort Griffin, which dates to the 1870s, is a short drive from here, and provides an interesting insights in the history of the settlement of Texas. I had never realized that the army had built a chain of forts across Texas to protect the settlers.

I moved to Texas in 1999 from Fla and bought 30 acres of overgrown pasture. Through the years I have built my dream property and just feel so right at home here. My husband of 3 years now loves to travel so we have decided to hit the road with our equines and ride in as many states as possible. We own 3 Mules. Polly, Dolly and Buck. Polly and Dolly are black molly mules and are trained to drive and ride. Buck is a buckskin john mule. He is a wonderful trail riding mule. My husband is also a cowboy poet so we love to go to as many cowboy gatherings as possible.
Our only child left at home now is our little dog Peyton. She is a black and white Papillion. She runs our family.

We have decided to make our ranch a vacation rental so you can enjoy it while we are gone. So please come on out and make yourself at home.
