All about Julia’s place

Comfortable, ground-floor-only barn conversion in a quiet rural village. Open plan, light-filled & spacious home with French doors leading to a private walled courtyard and garden with outdoor seating (a safe, enclosed space for dogs but NOT SUITABLE FOR CATS).
Perfectly situated for those who enjoy visiting châteaux and other monuments, the vineyards of both northern & southern Burgundy, natural outdoor spaces (eg. Morvan Park), etc.

The space
Small converted barn, formerly used to house goats, all on ground level with its own walled garden, 1 bedroom & 1 bathroom.
Located on the edge of a typical Burgundian village, in a rural river valley with livestock & arable farming, dotted with hedges, woodland & the occasional vineyard on the neighbouring hillside.
The rented property has its own stone-walled garden. Converted in 2011, the “Vieille Chèvrerie” is cosy, modern & comfortable, a single-storey holiday rental designed principally for for 2 people (a 3rd person could sleep on the spare bed in the open living-dining area if need be). It has a professionally-fitted, fully equipped kitchen, one double bedroom & a bathroom with large modern shower.
There are no steps into or inside the building; its design is open plan, with a large living area & plenty of light provided by large south-facing windows & French doors leading out into the garden. “La Vieille Chèvrerie” can accommodate certain people of reduced mobility, although it does not meet all the criteria for such certification.

Enjoying the tranquillity of a rural setting, it is nontheless within easy reach of some important tourist sites, the A6 & A5 autoroutes & Montbard high-speed TGV train station (journey time to Paris is just over an hour.
Dogs are very welcome, provided they don't get up onto the bed or other furniture.
Parking within your own walled garden-courtyard.
Owner usually on site for help or advice, if needed; otherwise you'll be left in peace to enjoy your stay!

Where you’ll be

Viserny, Bourgogne Franche-Comté, France

Viserny is a quiet village with a friendly atmosphere; apart from the local farmer passing with his tractor and trailer to move his Charolais cattle or tend his crops, there is little to disturb residents here besides an occasional dog barking or child crying out.
The property is one of the last in the lower village and lies on the road to the river Armançon.... it makes a good starting point for a walk or cycle ride.
