Bob very generously allowed us to stay in his cabin for free after Hurricane Michael forced us to evacuate our home. That alone would be worthy of a glowing review, but the cabin itself was also amazing. It is a wonderfully cozy space in a beautiful lakeside environment that inst…

The place is very nice, beautiful view to the lake and between woods. Nice Trail and close to some springs. The Cabin is perfect for 3 or maximun 4 people. The host is incredibly nice and comprehensive. I really recommend this place.

Bob’s place is beautiful and access to the canoe and lake was amazing. SEVERAL WARNINGS for people of color, LGBTQ+ folks, Muslims and friends of Bill W and Jimmy K. We were really offended by a piece of art of pig flying a CONFEDERATE FLAG in the bathroom. It made us feel unsaf…

Response from Bob:
Ms. Lakey Love: In response to your comments of our Cabin I would like to say first that the employees and management of Cypress Run Retreat do not have any intentional bias or prejudices of any kind towards any race, color, creed, sexual orientation, religious desires or anything of any kind, and are taken back by any feelings you may have of the contrary. We rent a Cabin in the rural environment for customers to relax, enjoy a break in a safe, comfortable and private area from the main stream pressures of life, and not have to worry about what color, religion, sex, or political agendas they have. Partaking of Spirits is what some guests do to help them relax and enjoy their vacation. In the Words of Our 40th President’s Wife Nancy Reagan, “Just Say No”, would be the self control we would expect from our guests, if they had any problems or concerns. We cater to the majority as best we can. We are terribly sorry that you have taken offense to anything that is apart of the Cabin or the 25 acres of property that encompasses it. If you had concerns prior to your visit you might have contacted me personally and we could have worked things out for you to have the most enjoyment out of your vacation. You mentioned you knew nothing of what to expect. Well you never inquired if there was anything that might offend you and your prejudices, and this should be something you might in the future consider if you are going to have these types of concerns. Your reviews from other host did not have any of these concerns addressed (Website hidden by Airbnb) So in response to your concerns of The Carving that you mentioned, which was donated, and which was made for the cabin and previous owner, and who is from Canada and is one of the most liberal French Canadians you could meet, the artist the same. It fits the ascetics just right. This is The State of Florida, the town of Orange Springs and in The United States of America. We here at Cypress Run can not change history, culture, and heritage. If you were to research the areas you are to visit you would have found out how old this state is and all the history that surrounds this area. If you are trying to mix in the Civil War with your issues this State and especially this town and entire area has major “Civil War” history. We can debate this if you care to contact me personally or just go ahead and rent out the Cabin again and I can give you a tour and an un-bias history lesson. Once again you were a pleasure to have and would consider again having you stay at Cypress Run Retreat.
