The space

We're proud to be the top rated Lake Texoma Bed & Breakfast on TripAdvisor. Here are a few guest comments.

This is a beautiful property located just a few short minutes out of Kingston and Lake Texoma. The home is very clean, comfortable, well decorated and has many antiques throughout. The outside is landscaped with a beautiful in ground pool and jacuzzi. We stayed in the garden room on the first flood which was great, quiet, and comfortable with a large bathroom including a stand up glass shower and jet tub. Grant, the innkeeper, made us feel right at home and was always available. We had a great, homemade breakfast on Sunday before our departure. Prices were fair and we hope to return again!

We attended a family reunion at Lake Texoma and rented 3 rooms for the Fourth of July weekend. The inn is one mile from the small town of Kingston and about 5 miles from the lake and lake communities of Caney Creek and Soldier Creek.
For me, the inn was a bit like going home. The house was built in the 1990s, but decorated like an antique shop. The covered porch covers two sides of the house with a beautiful pool and hot tub in the back. Other than the garage, there are no other buildings anywhere in the vicinity.
Some small inns can be noisy, but we rarely heard a sound, and I am a light sleeper. The rooms are a nice size and had everything we needed. The air conditioning almost made it too cold for us, but there were plenty of quilts and blankets. My husband commented that he felt incredibly rested and refreshed after our two nights there.
A delicious full breakfast was served by Grant, the innkeeper. We felt very welcomed; and, if you want to store anything in the refrigerator, you are welcome to do so.
If you want a peaceful and relaxing place to hang out for a day or two or even a week, Harbor Inn is worth a look.

Harbor Inn is a very charming bed and breakfast. Rooms are oversized and bed linens were fresh. Grant, the owner, was very attentive to our needs and visited with us as though we were family. My favorite part was relaxing by the pool at night, staring at the stars. We have been back multiple times and will continue going.

Beautiful home not far from Lake Texoma. The house is great, beds are comfortable, the pool is wonderful to have, only downside on the home is you are unable to use the stove which we use often on vacation to cut cost with a big family. Feels like your staying in some else's house who just stepped out for the evening. The place is amazingly clean, top to bottom, you can't find dust if you tried. Having your own pool sounds great but it is shared with the tenants who live above the garage. We saw the owner a lot during our stay which seemed a bit odd to us. The kids would be playing in the pool, come inside for a snack and go back out and everything had been put away. There was some mistakes with our reservation in the beginning and we had to find another place for our first night but mistakes happen. If your looking for complete privacy, this isn't the place for you. But if you don't mind the owner being around then it's great. Also, not having a key to lock the place while you're gone is strange to me. That should change.

Dissapointment: The feeling one gets when discovering that what was expected was not what you are getting. We found this large home listed as a "whole house and pool" and expected it to be our private getaway for the weekend. A small mention in the description about a permanent resident living in the garage apartment of which their would be no interaction, did not set off any alarm bells. As we pulled into the driveway we were shocked that there were no less than 6 cars parked there and people everywhere, including a group of kids swimming in the pool. The owner greeted us and said that they would all be leaving for the lake shortly and would probably be too tired to use the pool again when they returned. We were also surprised when he told us that there was no key to the house and that we would have to leave it unlocked with our belongings if we left to go anywhere. Later that night we sent a very polite email explaining that we were expecting the exclusive use of the pool as described in the listing and asked him to please understand that we would appreciate some privacy as that is why we chose this house over a hotel. His response was not to respond at all, creating a very tense and awkward environment for the rest of our stay. The following day the non-stop flow of people continued. Any time spent on the pool was with people walking past every few minutes it seemed. There simply was no privacy and always an overriding sense that we were in someone else's space, it felt uncomfortable. The house itself was large and clean. It has a lots of neat knick-knacks and the location was certainly convenient. This home is normally a B&B and the owner had only recently made the foray into renting the entire home out. I think that as a B&B it probably made more sense. If you are looking for a place to spend time alone with your family, I would not suggest this house. If you are OK with being in a community setting, then this is not a bad deal.

Grant's house was well-kept. We didn't spot a spec of dust in the entire place. All amenities on-site were as promised. It's on a sprawling plot of land and there's no TV in the main room, giving the house great appeal for people looking to get away to relax. The house has vintage appeal with many antiques. Beds were very comfortable and there was plenty of room for our 8 adults and 1 toddler. The host was kind enough to let us stay with a toddler even though his listing discourages children. However, upon arrival, I saw exactly why. There are breakables and valuables on virtually every surface of the home. We had to take some precautions to ensure my 2 year old didn't knock anything over. Even some of the adults were worried they'd bump into something. Therefore, I wouldn't recommend staying here with children. The pool was excellent and the host's communication was excellent. Privacy was a bit of an issue. It was clear that the host wanted to accommodate us, but he did stop by every day sometimes twice a day. Additionally, the guest house on the property has full-time residents and you share a driveway. Though we didn't talk to them much directly, they were out and about on the property throughout the day.
