Iden is a restored 19th Century farm house on 28 private acres located at the center of Virginia wine, golf and horse country 30 minutes to downtown Richmond, Colonial Williamsburg/Yorktown/Jamestown, College of William and Mary, Bush Gardens and Water Country. We are decorated in a comfortable country style with period furniture and antiques. This is a place for families or groups who enjoy and appreciate fine surroundings. We are close to equestrian activities and can arrange trail rides.
Step back in time to the elegance of a 19th Century Virginia Plantation house, luxuriously restored and furnished with period antiques. Five large comfortable bedrooms and 3 1/2 bathrooms located 1/4 mile from the New Kent Winery and an 18-hole championship golf course designed by Reese Jones. Please note that the nightly rate includes 7.3% state and local taxes that we are required to collect.
Guest have access to the full house, kitchen, BBQ and grounds

I am a phone call away and I visit daily to tend to our peacocks, chickens and goats.

Well behaved children and pets (no cats) welcome. Inquire for event suggestions and coordination. There is no smoking anywhere on the premises. This is a centuries old house surrounded by hay fields. Guests are kindly asked to wash and stow all kitchen ware before departure. You may leave a load running in the dishwasher if necessary. All used bed linens (not covers and spreads), towels, etc. to be placed in laundry baskets in each bedroom. Iden is a centuries old house nominated to the National Register of Historic Places. Please help us to gently preserve it for generations to come.
I am a retired school administrator and work for Colonial Williamsburg. My wife, Denise, is a local school teacher. We have two grown children. Restoring and operating Iden is my full time vocation and hobby. We enjoy travel, historic places and pets. I am a some time equestrian and enjoy animals of all kinds. I love books about history and biography.
