Welcome home to the warm and cozy Cabin at Hawksnest and Otter Falls, a peaceful mountain getaway in the Blue Ridge Mountains! The cabin is a fully equipped mountain chalet, easily accessible to every convenience, but retaining the serene mountain retreat vibe that you are looking for. Come explore Otter Falls, Snow Tube or Zipline at Hawksnest, hike Grandfather Mtn., ski at Beech or Sugar Mtn., shop at Mast General Store, and so much more! Once you're here, we know you'll never want to leave!

The space

This is the perfectly updated mountain cabin of your dreams! The kitchen is to die for with the farm table, woodstove and views out the giant picture windows surrounding the living room and kitchen. Coffee and teas will be provided, as well as all linens so you can ease right into mountain living as soon as you walk through the door!

The Cabin used to be a Bed and Breakfast, so each bedroom has its own bathroom. One master bedroom upstairs has two twin beds and a full bath with a deep tub; the other upstairs master bedroom has a king bed with full bath with a walk in shower; the bedroom on the main floor has a queen bed with a private walk in shower in the bedroom, and private access to the washroom on the main level; and downstairs there is a complete mother-in-law suite with a bedroom having a full size bed, along with a second family room with a big screen TV and a gas fireplace, and additional sleeping nook area with bunk beds.

There are three levels of decks perfect for drinking coffee on a peaceful morning overlooking the valley, and with plenty of cozy living areas to curl up with a good book, you can be sure you will never want to leave!

No wood burning is permitted in the bedroom fireplace or the wood stove in the kitchen, but the gas fireplaces in the two family rooms are for your use from September through May.

Guest access

The Cabin is perched on over one acre of mountain top property, and the whole property is open for your use. Any interior doors that may be locked are either utility or storage spaces that are off limits, but otherwise the place is yours to enjoy!

Interaction with guests

You will have total privacy when you stay at the Cabin at Hawksnest and Otter Falls. You will receive a unique keyless entry code to access the home when you arrive, and no one will ever come to the house during your stay unless there is an emergency. We will be available immediately whenever we are needed by phone or text, and we have a maintenance man on call 24/7 should need arise.

Other things to note

The Cabin is equipped with everything you need. We provide shampoo and soaps in the showers, and the first few days worth of paper towels, toilet paper, etc. Anything you find in the pantry or fridge, you are welcome to use. Guests periodically leave non-perishable items at the cabin, so there is an ever evolving stock of random supplies on hand. Anything you find in the kitchen is yours to enjoy! If you are staying longer than a few days, you may need to provide your own backup paper goods as needed because we do not come to the cabin to restock during a reservation.

Parking at the cabin is very accessible to the main road. Our driveway can accommodate 3 or maybe 4 cars max.

We were two families--4 adults and 5 kids ranging from age 3 to 10. This was a great spot for a weekend in the mountains! We loved the coziness of the cabin--lots of space for each family and the toys provided were a big hit for all of our kids. Everything was clean. The beds, esp the master bed, were SO comfortable! Really high marks for that! Love that Starbucks coffee was provided! It was great having separate sleeping spaces on each of the three floors. If you stay here, please take the short drive to the trails at Otter Falls. This was one of the highlights of our trip, as it was just magical and so beautiful. What a gem! We also enjoyed our trek on Grandfather Mountain! We enjoyed the whole area and would definitely stay here again! Blake was extremely responsive and very helpful! This cabin is a great find--cozy, an updated kitchen with a large dining table we were all able to gather round, and plenty of room. Very happy that we booked this place and would stay here again.

Blake is an amazing host. He provided information on the events, activities and local establishments in the entire surrounding area. He made himself available for any information I needed. The cabin was beautiful with views to die for. The space was homey, comfortable, well maintained, and easily accommodated a family or group of friends. I loved the easy access to unbelievably stunning mountain vistas. Minutes away from incredible water falls, great hikes in addition to night life. I can’t wait to return.

Mountain paradise. I have stayed in many Airbnb homes and this has been my favorite to date. I came to the area to scout locations for an upcoming project and I can’t wait to come back. This house has everything for a large group to have a great time in mountains of Western NC. It had comfy beds and furniture and fantastic hosts who are knowledgeable about the area. I can’t wait to return for ski season.

4 adults and 5 kids (8-15yrs) and we loved our stay. Ample yard space for catch, perfect porches, well appointed bedrooms/bathrooms/kitchen; so many games, puzzles and toys available that you never have to turn on the TV. Easy 15 min walk to Otter Falls trail and the waterfall is quite the treat. Thank you, Blake, for opening your home.

This place was incredible! It's conveniently located just a few minutes away from Boone, Banner Elk, and Grandfather Mountain. Blake did everything he could to make sure our stay was perfect. ( and it was) My friends and I made some great men in this cozy cabin. Will definitely check availability if we make a ski trip this winter.
