The accomodations in a typical Black Forest House stand out through very lovely, brightly and modernly decorated rooms, where some special, modern features can be spotted. At the same time, the nostalgic charme of the house and its history is always kept.
The house has common rooms (breaktfast rooms with a kitchenette) as well as a big garden with a green lawn. At breakfast, a selection of regional products of high quality is served.
Other things to note
In the morning, a rich breakfast buffet is offered (optional). The offer includes a selection of mostly regional products of high quality, also tailored to the needs of active people. At certain days of the week, varying "specials" are served (e.g. organic spelt bread from the nearby Bohnet-Hof, homemade cakes, eggs etc.). The breakfast buffet costs 8 € per person.
There's no restaurant in Igelsberg. But there are various restaurants in the neighbouring places (4-10km away), you will find everything from country inns to pizzerias and international cuisine. Alternatively, you can prepare yourself a warm meal in the kitchenette. If you don't want to get in the car any more to have dinner, you can also get some food delivered.
On certain evenings, there's the possibility to participate in a common dinner in the lodge. The owner will cook a (vegetarian) meal herself which will be eaten together (in the style of many hostels on the Camino de Santiago, where this is common). You can sign up for such a dinner until noon of the same day. We will satisfy special wishes or requests within our possibilities and capacities.
Dogs are allowed at a surcharge of 7 Euro per night.
From Dec 22, 2017 - Jan 07, 2018 the minimum stay is 4 nights.

I am Sarah, grew up in the South of Germany, but had the chance to live in various nice places in different countries during the last years. After my studies in economics, I have been working in the financial service sector for 3.5 years. In a crisis of purpose, I quit my job to dedicate myself to other activities.
After a 2-month long pilgrimage through France and Spain on the Camino de Santiago in 2015, I felt ready to start my own project and bought an old farmhouse and bed&breakfast in Igelsberg in order to renovate it and reopen it as the „Black Forest Lodge“. I live in it myself, striving to life a simple, independent and active life in close touch with nature.
Besides running, I also enjoy doing other sports such as yoga and exploring the Black Forest hiking or by bike. Reading, learning and speaking foreign languages, cooking and baking belong to my favourite activities as well. I used to travel quite a bit and still love to do it, but at the moment, I fully enjoy my role as a host at my own place and having nice and interesting people from all over the world stay in my lodge.
