My place is about a mile away from downtown Santa Cruz where there is plenty of great dining and shopping. There are other amazing restaurants even closer over here on the Westside. This cozy backyard studio is only 10 blocks from the ocean and close to great surf spots as well as the famous Santa Cruz Beach Boardwalk. You’ll love my place because of the outdoors space and the central location. My place is good for couples and solo adventurers.

The space

When not in rental use the space serves as my art studio. I rarely have time to dedicate to big projects anymore, but a few of my creations are displayed in the room. It has bright light in the morning and opens into a high fenced garden for optimal privacy and beauty. The bed is a brand new (July 2017) 6in foam mattress. While there is not a full kitchen there is a mini fridge, microwave and coffee pot. The bathroom is a full bathroom with a tile shower.

Guest access

You will have your own private entrance and bathroom. The back yard is shared but there is a fence that divides it into two. Street parking is ample and no permit needed.

Other things to note

We do have two dogs on the property. They are well behaved with people and super friendly but if you are scared of or allergic to dogs this is not the space for you.

Check In
We really enjoyed our stay. Everything went smoothly, the place is comfortable and in a good location. I would recommend staying here, and if I make it back to Santa Cruz I would stay here again.

Georgia has a lovely room, superbly located right in the Circles of Santa Cruz, and a short walk to the cliffs and beach. She was incredibly helpful and responsive, and very generous about our check in and check out times. Folks need no longer worry about the comfort of the bed - the (new?) mattress is excellent and we slept beautifully both nights we were there! I loved her little thoughtful art space for folks to leave their comments, but sadly didn't have time to avail of it ourselves. The only thing I'd suggest is that folks who rent are comfortable with dogs, because Georgia's two - separated by a fence from any visitors - are naturally curious about strangers around... till you make friends with them. :-)

I never met Georgia, but she was easy to get ahold of for check-in and during the stay. We accidentally left a bag in the room and Georgia very kindly put it in the mail for us the next day. The place is conveniently located. We left our car on the street in front of the house then walked to downtown and the boardwalk. The room was very comfortable for two people and it was nice having coffee and a mini-fridge available.

My family motto is "make it work" and that is just what I do. From the mundane every day to once in a life time trips I make it work. My favorite quote is from Maya Angelou: "If you don't like something, change it. If you can't change it, change your attitude. Don't complain." These two phrases guide my life to fabulous music shows, beaches, driving in traffic and doing laundry.
