The Borealis Cabin is nestled in the woods less than a mile from Lost Lake Trailhead. You’ll love our place because of the comfy bed, the kitchenette, the high ceilings, and the coziness. Our place is good for couples, solo adventurers, and families (with kids).

The space

This beautiful little loft cabin is nestled just off of a dirt road in the mountains about two miles outside of Seward city limits.

There is a small kitchenette with a microwave, refrigerator, hot plate, and coffee pot. The cabin does not have an oven or a stovetop range. There is a Bar-B-Q on the back porch for grilling and a fire pit for roasting marshmallows and ghost stories. Please bring your own firewood for the fire pit and charcoal for grilling.

Be advised that two of the beds are located in the loft of the cabin. In order to access the loft one must climb a ladder like staircase. The third bed is on the first floor for those guests who are squeamish about heights. There are three queen beds in all.

The cabin is one of two identical cabins on our property. Your neighbor is also a guest of ours. Please be respectful of their stay by keeping late night noises to a minimum.

Interaction with guests

We strive to give our guests as much privacy as possible, but you may see us from time to time during your stay. We love to meet our guests, so don't hesitate to strike up a conversation! We live on the property, but the cabin is private and separate from the main house. We are available to answer questions or help when needed.

Other things to note

Single night bookings:
We have a two night minimum, but when there is a single night gap in the schedule we are happy to accept a single night booking for an additional $25. Just shoot us a message with your date and we'll go from there.

Thanks a ton Meegan and Tom! Everything was just great. We even made eggs and breakfast on both mornings. The place was superb, clean, and very spacious for my 14 month old, my husband and me. We all slept downstairs, but really appreciated the separate upstairs to hang out once my son went off to bed at 8pm. The wifi was great too. Also thanks a million for responding to my late evening questions on working the heater, and also offering to come over. The instructions were right there and clear (sorry we missed them at first). This place is great, probably the best of 5 airbnbs we booked during this trip. New and clean and has everything you would need for a comfortable stay. I would highly recommend it.

Meegan User ProfileMeegan is a superhost.

I live in Seward, AK. My husband and I host our own cabins on AirBnB. He also runs a campground and fishing charter business on Resurrection Bay. We love to travel-especially in the winter when the weather gets colder.
